Super Skunk journal #1

Hahah cant wait! I was just reading @Amazon66 thread from july about moon phases, and it dawned on me that this pics above fell into the full moon days… first pic was day one of FM, second pic was day 2 of FM… the week before showed slow to little growth…:thinking::thinking::sunglasses::joy:

Okayyyy… I changed out the soil in the cups on this Super Skunk. Wild PH going on😕 so changed to clean Happy Frog and a little 6.5 ph water to get them on there way… this should clear it all up… pic speaks for itself, hopefully they’ll be good in a few days!

Pic is a day before the soil change… and had gotten alot worse… I’ll get a pic after they settle in. Ph of soil was 8.1 :man_shrugging: …the New soil was mixed better before use and was at 6.5. Roots had made it Not quite down to the bottom of each cup but, so…not bad for 4-5 days in the soil.

Ok took the pic day after new soil in cups… you can see on the leafs why I changed it… that is a sign of a bad PH flux!!

There liking the new soil!

Just a update picture to keep track of the timeline(this is where I keep it all ,I dont write it down) 3rd day in new soil

New growth is looking like problem solved… so I raised the lights to 30" to start the stretch a bit. They had thier first 8 hrs of sleep last night. Been on 24/7 and will be on 24/7 from now on!! Found that a 16on 8 0ff really didnt do much in the way of making things better… IE: veg time was about 2-3 weeks longer last time with a light schedule than my first grow that was on 24/7 untill Flip. Also I didnt see an increase of the size of the buds, most were hard tight nugs but, on the contrary they were smaller, taste wise …same thing not enough difference to justify the longer grow time.
Soooooo 24/7 it is on this grow to see if it is a correct assumption.
I only have 2, 7 gal bags left and 5,10gallon pots left so the 7 gallon pots for 2 and a 10 for the other one. The one thing I found with 24/7 is when they get bigger they drink a lot of water, instead of every 3 days i found that during flower I had to water them almost every day… and that was to runoff! So you HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON THEM!! yep…found out the hard way🙂 these all rooted good! So I’m happily excited!!
Oh and if anyones intrested that Spark guitar amp… love it… for its size the 40 watts cranks, and its features are cool as sh…t, pretty bad ass little practice amp!

I will do a Support ticket with all the nute, light, soil, vent, temp, etc after I get them In there final pots.

If I didn’t keep a log I wouldn’t even know when I watered last, what and how much I fed them, ph and ppm readings, etc.

Hahahaha, yeah me too! I was doing a hand written one but then I got on here, and was doing both…I’m a stoner with bone issues ect and turned out a LOT more fun and less work to keep it all here…LOL. plus people will let you know if they see an issue and help you correct it before it get too bad… I do keep track of the nute changes and ph #s though.

Well… today’s the day there getting thier forever home!!! Was/is a challenge to get them started but I think were off and running now!!

Cant wait till I can pick off those ugly leafs! LOL. … BUT again on a side note… These came in today!!

After 3 months and a few emails to see if they were gonna ship it… I find out these have been discontinued years ago… found them on ebay for anywhere from 50 bucks to $110!!! No way… looked and found a place called Goodmans… that said they had a kit …small/large with hose for my food saver in stock… for $19 …is I ordered it and sure enough got an email a week later saying I could get a refund or wait and see… so I wated and forgot about it… untill I got an email saying it was shipped!!! Couldnt believe it… but here they are …brand new with instructions from 2010. I love the other one I got … a hand pump one with the little tabs that work Great to keep all my jars vacuumed sealed!! So far that one has been awesome… buds still as fresh and tasty as they were months ago!!! Hope these work!!
It was a hail Mary ordering these but it came… I know there were people looking for ways to vacuum seal there jars, so maybe someone will be able to get theirs from Goodmans also…idk but that’s where I got it!!

SO then 378.5 grams (volumetric math) of that Potassium sulfate powder from Amazon into 1 gallon of water for the 10% solution.
Add the 1.5 tsp of Dark brown Sugar for the carbs. Mix well till everything is dissolved and jug it!

FEED CHART
(DO NOT mix with Silica - this causes a chemical reaction - precipitation)

STARTING Week 3&4 !
4-ml in 1 gallon of your feed

At week 5&6
6-ml in 1 gallon of your feed

At week 7 till harvest
8-ml in 1 gallon of your feed

Thank you, Thank you! @Grandaddy013 Been following your thread and love the results you get, and have been buying the terp, was wanting to do this since seeing it on another site with good/similar results as orig terp… you seem to have worked out a good mix soooo …
Thank you for Sharing it… Now That I wrote down! :joy: Yes I have read that silica is not good with it, so far havent had a need add silica (yet), but honestly I dont know enough about it to know if its IS needed or what the symptoms would be… sooo research it is! I have enough P.S.to last a while and for other plants as well.

Ok Thanks to all up there :point_up:for getting me in the right direction…Again…
Here’s a pic of 2 bags of FFOF
Added…
1 3/4 cup Dolomite lime
3 scoops (larger size) Mycos+
About 20% perlite
Anyone have thoughts on the soil additions??

More of something, less of another ect , or even adding something else??
I added the lime this time cause the last 3 times I’ve had Low PH and monster ppms at around the light flip and the rest of flower time… Just when you Don’t want problems!!! and with the addition of the 240w Qb with my burples it really was a challenge to keep them feeding well!! I know it added a lot of time on to the grow having to adjust so much… Hoping to Not have to do that this time…hence the DL. Also plan on top dressing if needed around week 6-7.
The Mycos+… read numerous time in different places to add Mycos+ to the soil for the same reasons you add it to your watering… help the root zone thrive and build good colonies of the good things… but everyone adds it differently it seems so …Idk…I just added the 3 scoops of the spoon supplied with it. Hoping the things I’m changing in the room with a double filter 6" and a 4" will help with the temps this time!! Still need to figure out the humidity issue… never above 30 or so… would like it at atleast 40-60 on a regular… but thinking … if I put a auto water sys with res… thinking that would help raise it a bit… Amazon has a small 4-6 pot kit for like $60 I think.
Was gonna pot them up today but the tub drain isnt draining… life get in the way… out come the tools… it’s one of those 60 type tubs… got to take out the stopper and plug the pipe up to be able to plunge it…:man_facepalming::man_facepalming:… love you tube!!

Ready, Set, Go! … and there off!
I concider this day One… makes it easier for me to keep track.

Curious if you did a ph slurry on the soil mix?
My last soil mix included 1 cup of limestone added to 1 bag FF OF and .5 cu ft of compost. Slurry was 6.9 and stayed manageable through out. One plant dropped to 6.2, just a little extra water on water only day got it squared around. Am finishing at 6.6 runoff number

No I didn’t do a test yet, I gave the mix a good mist and mix up and a day and a half to rest, and more mixing before planting, I’ll test it an a couple days to see where it’s at…
That’s exactly why I did it is your kind of results… every bag of FFOF I’ve had has dropped the ph … great finishing numbers!! Didnt have compost but hoping for similar stability!!

I am uncertain of the impact of this. I added 2-3 Tbl of bone meal to a gallon of water to steep overnight several times. It would increase ppm only 40-50 pts. Bone meal can increase ph and only becomes usable when soil ph is under 7.

Same idea why I’m trying the lime, I used bone and blood meal at one time before ffof… and just had to many swings for me to keep with it… one reasion I went with FFOF is the mix it has in it… still towards the end low ph but not as bad as i was getting … we’ll see…
