Suggestions on a 2x4 grow tent

Hey,

Back again with some needed help, okay first I’m a micro grower, I only grow 2 maybe 3 plants at most, I’ll be using dwc, with the full line of gh flora series, with maybe some hydroguard added, and I’m still looking at lights but I’ve about decided on a a marshydro ts 1000 or 2000, can some you pros chime in with a suggestion on a decent 2x4 tent for the price, and any suggestions on a vent system is also very appreciated, thanks majorly guys!!!.

I’ve got a 2x4 but in less than a year tons of little pin holes all up and down the seems. Believe it’s a quictent. As far as lights. Just got a HLG 260xl rspec and love it. Will give u complete coverage of the 2x4. I’m only doing 2 myself, 1 panel per plant. The exhaust, I was told its better to have it and not need it. Rather than need it and not have it. Went with a vivosun 6in fan and have a terrabloom 6x16 carbon fiber filter otw. Had to get an AC unit bc I couldn’t get the temp to stay down. Guess its such a small area that the light will heat it up quickly. Hope this helps. Few other more experienced growers in here with 2x4 I believe. They might chim in

Hey,
Good info, thanks, I was hoping I could get the ventilation to take most of the heat out ,that was 1 of my fears due to a small grow tent was heat and i don’t want my res getting to hot, so i might go up to a 3x3, if need be

I’ve got 2 tents that are 2’x4’. An Ipower and a Matrix. Both have lots of light leaks. The ipower has horrible zippers. The matrix zippers are smooth like butter. Vents and options are similar. Both under $75.

If you’re growing in a room with very little ambient light you could get away with a “cheap” tent like these. Otherwise you’ll probably have to spend some money to get better lightproofing and zippers.

The ts1000 is 150w at the wall and the ts2000 is 308w. For a 2’x4’ tent you’ll need 400w at the wall of lighting like that. So, essentially one of each.

I’d recommend this for a 2’x4’ tent.

If you’re handy and into diy you can save money by piecing it out.

Hey,

Good to know, I’m a very big “DIY"er”, I’ve checked a lot of 2x4 tents and appearantly your not going to get a tent that’s got decent zippers and light proof for under 100, thst wont teat every time you turn around, sssooooo I guess I’ll diy me a decent budget tent, and taken the money saved and buy a decent light, anyways i thought it was worth checking jnto, thanks again guys!!!

I’ve been eying Secret Jardin tents, which appear to be top notch. I don’t have any firsthand experience with them though.

Another excellent QB company Budget LED same as HLG but better prices. Im getting one soon.

I just purchased the vivosun 6" plastic inline fan. Works great. Also got the ac infinity carbon filter 6x19. Fan was on sale for 43 and filter is 54. Got 8’ of black ducting for $12 too

Get yourself a can of flex seal and spray the whole outside of tent. Takes care of all light leaks

@Ryansway I have a mars tsw 2000 for my 3x3 and couldn’t be happier. I’m a new grower as well. I do see alot of people leaning towards the hlg r specst Uploading: 20191214_170423.jpg… hough. Also I bought a 4inch ac infinity exhaust fan and absolutely love it. Check them out they are a little bit more money than the vivosun but you cant beat them. If you use code CANUCK20 you will get 20% off your whole order. Good luck hope your growing goes smoothe!

Even though “Quantum Board” is synonymous with fanless LED on PCB, QB is actually a trademark of HLG. Anyone searching Google for an alternative option to the HLG products might want to search “PCB LED grow light” instead. Just a bit of trivia.

Very nice light

The tsl2000 will light a 2x4 just fine. It is a qb board and there for the 50 watts per sq ft is off. More like 35 watts a sq ft. I have 2 ts1000s in my tent at about 75 percent and it can almost be to much light. I keep it 16 to 24 inches away too. My brother inlaw also grows in a 2x4 tent he uses a tsl2000 by mars and loves it. Also turned down. I give hgl its respect but mars aint no joke. The cost difference is not much so its all on what you want. But trust me the tsl2000 will be fine in a 2x4. Infact I just harvested a WWphoto that was under a mars ts1000 and they are some of the most dense nugs I have ever seen. Good luck. And ya go with a 6 inch fan and filter. I have a 4 inch and keep it turned down but my room I have my tent in is heated and cooled.

Hey,

Yeah I was watching get the video reviews on YouTube of the ts 2000, and it seemed awesome for the price, the only other brand that caught my eye for a couple 100$ was a viper specter series, but I don’t have the kind of money to drop a a thousand at 1 time so I’m buying peices weekly, and yeah some 1 already posted what I was going to do is flex seal the crap out of a diy tent lol, and find a decent exhaust setup and I’ll be giving it another go, this grow I’m currently on did decent but I’m ready for it to be over and start a new 1 lol

I don’t have experience with a lot of brands for comparison, but I went whole hog on my tents and got Gorillas. I’m pretty happy with them.

Ventilation? I’m sold on AC Infinity for moving air. I’ll let someone with more experience weigh in on filters. I’ve tried 2 brands (Vivosun and AC Infinity) and I’m equally happy with them, but I do know that folks run into issues with them on occasion.

I’d buy 2 TS 1000s instead of a single 2000. The coverage will be much better in that 2x4, and you can run 1 light when the plants are vegetative.

Hey,

Good point on the 2 ts1000 instead of 1 ts2000, but the problem is I got money on hand and keep going back and forth on what would do the best, is a 2x4 or 3x3, like I said I only grow 2 plants indoors, sooo I just want the best coverage I can get for the price lol, I’m very very cheap/poor lol

I run my tent with the door wide open. I’ve had no issues doing this. The tent I have doesn’t have much leaks.

Get one ts1000 now, and in a few months when you plan to flower pic up the other. Thats what i did kinda. The tsl 2000 is pretty much two ts 1000. The L in tsl stands for long. It is made to flower a 2x4 tent and is about 20 bucks cheaper than 2 ts1000s, has two drives that dim too, and you can turn one side off. All good options. 2 plants in a 2x4 is easy btw.
