Looks like the 3x3 gets a haircut soon. Just flipping so ill shape them as I want when stretch over.
I just setup a similar tent pairing and want to do basically exactly this. My wife has a vacation planned that butts up to my current grow so I probably wonāt get it going this time but following along to figure it out for next go. Plants are looking amazing man! How long do you veg the clones? I was thinking about trying to go a month or less and keep them small but just get 2 yields in half the time kind of thing. Also I completely new to cloning. How long do you usually let your mother plants go for? I really like the idea of making the 3x3 a permanent home for one massive mother plant.
In a sog i veg about 2 weeks then flip. Otherwise just however big i want them
Oh thatās cool. Honestly didnāt know you could flip them that quick. How much do you typically get per plant? Growing for the wife and I, so definitely trying to find some good consistent yield methods. Do you flip the mother or just clone her forever?
Well a sog you get a lot. The clones are moms age so can flip day 1 planted. I fimmed all last time once. Cleaned them up for about 4 tops each. 3x3 yielded a good 1.5 lb. Short plants. Fat tops. I do not sog much anymore but restarting since living soil. Liquid nutes I killed 1. Whole fā¦ing thing. Years back.
1 good thing about a huge mother is when maxed out clone a new 1 and flip big mom. 1 gg4 mom I flipped in 3x3 20 gallon pot netted 2.5lb dry.
Also a sog in a small area will outproduce 2 or 3 plants in same space. Half the time.
Hell yeah, Iām definitely giving this a go. Maybe even this time now, had no idea it was that quick. I was thinking mothers in the 5x5 and clones in the 3x3. Could see how switching that could be good too but already started 2 seeds and not sure a 3x3 would be great if Iām trying for 2 months veg with the moms.
Yeah I was reading that and it makes a ton of sense. Plus less potential for issues since youāre growing through them so quick instead of having the time for stuff to build up.
Can start cloning soon as they get big enough. Dont have to wait months. If a little early they will mature the rest of the way quick. By that harvest the mothers will be super well established and a sog already done almost. I had a constant gg4 clone run 2 years straight. 9 generations before I moved on. Had 3 tents up and harvesting a lot. Mixing auto in.
Nice! Iāll definitely start diving into the cloning sections of the grow Bibles. From what youāve said this is the way for me I think. What media do you use?
I have soil i built a couple years ago. Living soil. Very nice now. Was just unammended organic potting soil. Perlite. Worm castings. Organic dry ammendments. Worms. After a couple years the worms still live. I return my pruning to the soil for organic matter. I am a very basic grower. Few gizmos or gadgets. I have them all i just never use them. Way too lazy.
Man thatās pretty cool. Iām using Fox F which I like but we bought property with a ton of woods and man in tempted to find out what that stuff grows like. Weāre in Michigan so thatās kind of ocean forest right?
@MedLifeCrisis here are the girls going into flower while i restart clone run.
As soon as i flip the small sog they go in the 5x5 with the sog.
The clones are rooting and mothers vegging.
Moms hit 3x3 at flip and ill put up a 2x4 to veg the clones for the 5x5 replacements.
After all timed right and running smooth ill be able to slow down. Can put 4 pounds or better in bank pretty quick for our medical circle. I vacuum pack it for storage.
Hell yeah man. If you were going to just flower the clones in the 3x3 how many would you do? I have a ton of 5 gal fabric pots even though I wish they were 3 gal now. Iāll have about 5 months from now until an upcoming vacation and Iād really like to just be harvested so figured Iād still fill the 5x5 with Mom and just short run a handful of clones in the 3x3 with same flip to harvest all at once. Iāll have 2 momās, would you still switch them over to the 3x3 for flower?
Oh timeline planning to veg 1.5-2 months then flip and anticipate up to 2.5 months for flower and then a couple weeks for harvest and to get into cure bags before the trip.
Last sog was a 3x3. 16 plants in 2 gallon. Just fit. Taller 2gallon over short wide. I had 2 of my 300w Electric Sky lights in. They run really cool. 400w is more than enough or even 350 with a 4x4 footprint. The lighting is footprint for me. If I have a 3x3 with 4x4 veg footprint light then can wall to wall with little falloff on the edges all the way through. My lights have a bad shape for a 3x3 hence 2. Used to run an HLG 550 in it. Square. 4x4 print. 450w.
Iāll be running the spider farmer SF4000 from my first kit in the 3x3. It didnāt have the best spread at the edges of a 4x4 honestly but I think will be perfect if not a little overkill in a 3x3.
