Spider farmer sf-2000

Hey

I’m a beginner grower and was looking at getting the sf-2000 my concern is does it do veg and bloom I seen it has a dimming switch on it but not sure how it works

Welcome to the neighborhood @Dontae616
Yes sf is a start to finish light and works very well. I own 2 of them and wouldn’t trade them for anything out there of equal price.

Thanks for your response what is the recommendation for the veg and bloom? Do I keep it on one setting?

The SF is a decent light and I don’t believe it has veg and bloom switches. Veg and bloom switches are usually a feature of cheap burple lighting that experienced growers have learned to avoid.

These better quality lights have the proper spectrum for the entire cannabis lifecycle and switches are not needed.

Thank you for the response

I start my seedlings at a distance of 35 inches 50% power if I see stretch I’ll drop down to 30"
Once in veg I lower the light a couple inches every few days until around 26" then slowly increase the power to about 75% by the time I switch to flower
During stretch I allow my plants to grow to the light to about 20-22" increase power again slowly to 100% by like weeks 4-5 of flower I drop my light to around 16" where I leave it to harvest. I’ll rearrange my plants to where the taller ones are furthest from the center so the shorter ones are in the highest ppfd

This is just a generic description of the way I keep my lights because you always have to adjust to different plants needs some plants won’t like the light where others will crave more

Exactly. I try to keep mine as close as is reasonable during flowering. I’ll usually lower it a whole lot and then back it off until the foxtailing stops. I put a lot of light on my girls and it pays off in terms of harvest weight, bud density, etc.

@MeEasy @MidwestGuy

I just order the SF should be here in a couple days my ladies are already in flowering so I hope I don’t interrupt the light (blurple) garage it has now

I would just switch them out for lights on on a particular day of your choosing. You plant won’t know the difference and they will likely thank you for the better light after several days.

How long have you been in flowering? If it’s early then you can look forward to bigger, more dense buds.

I had a burple too early on. I should probably sell it on eBay.

Yep you have to adjust to the plants they won’t adjust to you :wink: while this is going on above you have to watch below and if there’s any bugs not growing of just fluffy it’s best to cut them off and let your kids smoke it lol it will help your top keeping the bottom clean and save your hand when it’s time to trim your harvest

@MidwestGuy
It’s just the 3rd day so that make me feel a little better.

I’ve been super cropping but making sure I don’t cut more then I need to.

Good. I don’t know if you’ve grown before or not. If you have, then you will notice a difference in productivity of the plant with the better lighting.

@Dontae616 when you get it just introduce it slowly at probably 25" or so and 75% so not to burn em and every other day increase the power till 100% then start lowering it until about 16" which is where I’ve found is the sweet spot for the sf2000. Your plants are gonna love you for this change :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Supercropping shouldn’t involve cutting. Topping, FIMing, defoliating?
