Soil suggestions for new grow

Hello. Limited to five plants here. I’ve done several grows but I have used coco and soil in the past. Previously, I added coco to my soil and while I had good results; I would like to keep it simple.

I would like to do minimal flushing and use synthetic nutes.

I am ok adding coco to worm castings and perlite but I was cautioned before on having ph issues.

Is there something simpler ?

Coco and synthetics will always need pH and EC/ppm tracking and adjustments. Depending on your nutrition coco almost always needs flushing due to buildup. Some do this as a maintenance schedule.
Straight soil ( and perlite ) with chemical ferts can also lock. Every diary and journal I read had fert to runoff to check pH. ( Successful grows )
For easy can not beat organic nutrition in peat based soils. No need to pH water and if you organically too dress your grow you will prolly never pH anything. You will have to PH the nutrients if it is a pour or mix with water bag or bottle.
There is a learning curve for soil just like coco and I hate to see you bail on coco as you will be starting new.
I like slower grows as coco and any hydro grow problems happen fast. Soil does have a requirement when running organics that you have to feed the plant before it needs it to get the conversion to take place.
I run FF HF and OF 75/25 for autos and 50/50 for photos. 4 cups perlite in a 5 gallon fabric Top dress week 3/5/7 and then maintain EWC till 3 weeks from the end. I use a fish poop nute in flower only and the carb bottle hammers pH down to like 4.5 at max pour so that has to be adjusted or would be a disaster.

You could browse the forum and find endless combinations for medium/nutes.

I vote for roots organics original soil with jacks 321. Will get you start to finish with minimal effort imo. No need to add additional perlite and less ph issues compared to the foxfarm soils.

Ive never used coco but my understanding is you dont want to mix with soil due to differing ph requirements.

Good luck whatever you choose!!!

Edit: i found the roots organics soil to be less than half the price at a local grow shop compared to online :+1:

I measure everything with a 2.50 quart (scoop) flower pot.

Three scoops of compost dirt
Two scoops of perlite
Two scoops sphagnum peat moss
Two scoops earthworm casting
Eight tablespoons of Dr Earth’s tomato and Herb for veg or Dr Earth’s flower girl for a flower
Half a cup Dr Earth’s alfalfa meal
Four teaspoons of kelp meal
Third of a cup of greensand
Four tablespoons of mycorrhizal inoculant. Is my base mix and when I fill
the scoops up I give it a few taps on the ground to make sure it’s compacted down good enough because if you don’t your measurement comes up a little bit short for 5gal fabric pots when you’re done with the mix.

I also use silica blast, Karma(it’s like a liquid recharge), super thrive, Cal mag, recharge, seed weed ferts and the stash blend during veg and flower. I used to use them ever watering now I’ve backed off to every other watering with believe it or not with better results. I give them only water for the last 2-3 weeks depending on what trichromes look like

I know you said you want to do synthetics but just in case you ever wanted to go organic

I tried synthetics and soil one time.. burned everything slap up.. now i just keep it simple. Ive used Coast of Maine nutes and soil in the past with great results. Now im building my own mixes. Im using Veg and Flower nutes from @Roadsideorganics.ok now with spectacular results. No checking ph. Topdress every 15 to 30 days and let her cook!
