So, is this plant ready for harvest?

This is my Freshman crop. I overwatered and underfed, hence the leaves not looking their best. Nonetheless, the plants have some blooms. From this sampling, do you think it’s ready for the chop?

In a word …No. those white hairs need to turn brown and recede back into the bud.then be checking trics.

@Basilisk , NO, No, and no! The white pistils need to turn rusty before you need to check trichomes. It may be hard to believe but 4+ weeks is what it looks like to me. Chill out, keep feeding the little sweet heart and those buds will get much bigger! I call it EHS (early harvest syndrome). Very hard to be patient at the end, loads of people harvest too early. Seed Co.s use shortest possible harvest times to sell more seeds. This causes anxiety and paranoia to use weed harvested too early.
@Audiofreak has you covered. In that graphic though the last caption should read couch lock not cough lock. Your plants look healthy to me but you’ll see lots more frosty trichomes developing in the weeks to come. Relax and enjoy the ride! Keep us posted. This is the best place for guidance.

Also, don’t worry. In many cases the leaves will start fading due to the plant using nutrients from it’s own leaves toward the last weeks. You can prune lots of fan leaves from the lower areas, so the plant does not try to keep all that veg going and shortchange the buds.

I really appreciate all the info! I’m also glad to hear the unanimous assessment. There is a lot of conflicting info out there on the Web. @Fieldofdreams - this plant, as well as the four next to it, are from Trainwreck seeds I got from here a few months ago. I put these into flowering on 3.4.Various posts out there say sativa is ready for harvest faster, but I can wait. ;-).

These ladies grew quite big. One has chased the light making me have to attach it directly to the ceiling. I was using a humidifier in the tent until recently to keep the humidity up. I saw one, the one in the picture, started to get curling leaves, which I looked up here and saw it was from overwatering. I realized the humidifier was blowing right on it, so it was saturated 24/7. I turned off the humidifier. The pistils seemed a little redder on this one so I wondered if maybe it was ready early.

I really appreciate all the feedback. One thing I really like about this site is the supportive and informative community.

I just moved my closet rig to flowering, btw.

Best advice I ever received on this was… keep checking until “you think” they are ready…and then wait about another week… Trichomes will give you the real date. But…you may still see what you want to see. Especially at first. The Magnifier App lets you take a pic at a scale that can be useful. Little microscope with a light and jewel scope with a light will do the trick also.

NO! You have another 3-5 weeks @Basilisk
You need to get a jewelers loop or strong magnifying glass. Study your trichromes. All milky with partial amber hues. Patience Beautifully done

I’m just not getting this whole “patience” thing down yet.

I see you have the trichome thing well in hand and retract my pretentious advice on the other thread @Menace . Apologies.
