Should my seeds have sprouted?

That’s a solid plan. I do much the same. If you time your grows correctly you can take advantage of summer humidity during early to mid veg then when temps start to drop in the fall your humidity should fall with it. That’s the time for flower. Or do like I do and use a dehumidifier: they are not very expensive and fairly user-friendly. Just get one for a large room (about $150)

Update: sprouts!! Thanks again for the help!

However, I find myself with a new question. Do I pull this seed shell off?

You may have to but give it a chance first to shuck it. Cover that baby with a clear dome and the only water it sees should be misted on to the inside of the dome.

Got it. Thanks! Covering now!

Hit me with your Q’s anytime.

Should the humidity dome have ventilation holes?

No, holes would let the moisture out.

4 and 5 days from sprouting, respectively. I feel like most grows I’ve seen have the cotyledon leaves fully formed right after sprouting(within a day or so). Is this just a strain thing or can I be doing more?? Thinking of using a seedling heat mat next time.

Hard to see under the blurple. You could carefully remove that seed husk.

You are sprouting seeds in the winter. Your grow space may be like Hawaii but to the seedling it’s still winter. I don’t know how they know but you can look across the forum to hear complaints of slow sprouts, and slow growth (myself included).

As stated; every strain is different. Every seed is different.

I definitely would suggest putting a dome over your seedlings.

They have been under a dome since Saturday! I took the dome off for the picture. It does really seem to be helping them.

Another pic not in blurple. Using a plastic freezer bag for the dome (it was the easiest/most effective thing to use due to the seedling cup I’m using).

Also, thank you for the comment about the seeds knowing that it’s winter. I hadn’t noticed until you said something, but you’re right, people across several forums are talking about slow starting seedlings. That’s so crazy, I wonder how they know??

I know; it’s an amazing plant.

I’ve used sandwich bags but the 2 liter pop bottle is the best. Clear Solo cups are ideal if starting in cups (which I do).

I am on my third attempt with northern lights, I’m beginning to think they might be duds
Amnesia Haze and Blueberry are coming along fine but NL might need some more TLC than the others.

Sorry to bumrush this conversation but I am in South America and about to harvest, (didn’t think folks would be looking at harvest forums)
lower buds are farther along than the ones at the top, might harvest in sections, I was wondering when to split the stem before harvesting?
Thanks

Lots of growers do a staggered harvest. That top pic definitely needs more time.

Thanks My Friend,
I think the bottom can hang around for awhile yet as well,

there are some seeds in the mix and I am OK with letting them grow to fruition.

I don’t think the buds are putting on any more weight at the moment as they might be directing their energy at the seeds but

I am going to let it run its course.

Why don’t you start a journal and show us what’s happening in South America? We have folks here from all over the world: South Africa, New Zealand, Australia etc.

You would be welcome.

Do you mean politically or in relation to MJ,
border or narrower?

Whatever you care to share. We have a ‘Morning Garden’ that folks from all over the world post in. Got one from Wales, another from Vermont, still another in Belgium, etc.
