Should I top my plant

When height constraints are not an issue, I’ll grow both strains to the 6th node and top Sativas back to the 4th or 3rd for a manifold and Indicas to the 5th node. You can LST only but will have to bend the main over 90 degrees and trim the nodes facing the medium off. I’ll dig around for a pic of this :love_you_gesture:

That’s how it’s done. My method as well :love_you_gesture:

Judging by the picture I attached to this post, I should then probably top once I have more clearance room @beardless

This is just above the 4th node I believe

I topped this Sour Diesel and Bent the main over :love_you_gesture:

In my picture #1 is the first set of 5 lobed leaves.
Your thought about giving it another day to be able to get a clean cut is correct. Also, you do not want to cut or injure the little growth tips on each side of the stem. These will become the two new main stems.

This is a clear picture of the two growth tips. Also, I circled the node I mentioned to grow for the four colas. I stripped everything because this is a manifold. In your case leave the leaves at the circled node.
What you are making is called a quadline. It is a very productive form and faster than a manifold or mainline. It can be successfully used with autos too.

The next grow you can start with this form and then top again. Now you have 8 colas. Great fun!
@OGIncognito do you do the Quad? I have not but I think it is time.

Great thanks for the info! I’ll wait another day or two to top it. Also definitely remember reading to allow the chutes to grow so that’s what I was worried about possibly topping now, I could easily accidentally pinch the chutes so that’s why I asked the question on waiting another day or two. It’s too close for comfort right now lol.

Yes, I’ll split my runs with Quads and Manifolds.

Current grow with the Charlotte Yesterdream Quad and AK manifold

That is why I use scissors. Fat fingerers and arthritis is not a good combination.
Good luck

I like how those grew. This would be ideal for the small space I am growing in.

The pic @beardless posted is a great representation of early training to help with that :love_you_gesture:

Beautiful work. Exactly what @An-Cap1776 was saying. How tall are they?
You are more disciplined than I am. Somehow extra colas seem to sneak in on me from nowhere.

Babysteps first - Quads on Autos not a beginners move, not enough time to mess around. It’s a daily exercise for a few weeks to get them shaped and not stressed. I did some GSC autos and rooted tops a while back, it was more work and less fun

As long as you don’t have one that bolts into flower, there should be time for one topping. However, there is that risk and that is why I no longer grow autos.

I’ve been lucky with 99 percent of my autos flowering between 28-36 days in the veg cycle not counting the 14 day seedling growth.I’ve usually got HST out of the way by 21 days above ground a little longer with the manifold :love_you_gesture:
