Should I kick this autopot section off?

Kinda depends on your set up. I bought the xl 4 pot system, hoping to fill my 4x4 tent

I have a 4x4 as well. Outside of the upgraded XL system, I’d need to get some valves and that’s it?

Yeah, I plan on having shutoff valves at each tray, the reservoir and at the end of the trunk line. Also most people put an inch or so of something in the bottom of the pots. I’m going to use big chunk perlite then my coco and regular perlite mix in top. Some people use hydroton clay balls but I’ve been hearing about a lot of ph issues with those so I’m going to avoid them

I used an end cap that fits inside the PVC to secure the pipe laterally.

Attached it to the 1/2" plywood

The 2x4 on edge provides support for the PVC. Not shown here, I screwed through the pipe into the 2x4. It is taller than the 3/4"x 3" board on its inside. I did it this way in case I want to set a rack on it to support other types of pots and be able to remove the tray.

Another one

Any thing else let me know

I rinse them first. Then soak them in Jacks that is pH to 5.8 for a couple of days.

Some of my basic set up, new style with the holes in the trays instead of the slotted ones

Then chunky perlite in the bottom of the spring pots, about an inch per pot. Coco and regular perlite expanded with jacks321 on top of that. No air domes.

Then just add seeds and water and here we go!!

Oh yeah, we’re gonna need a few of these…

Following closely. I am considering coco and auto pots in the future.

Small update… life keeps getting in the way but I managed to get 2 transplanted today. Everything mentioned above and about 70/30 coco perlite mix. I also sprinkled a bit of mykos in layers as I filled the pots. I watered them in with ro, full strength jacks, 5ml/gallon cal-mag and a bit of tribus. Ph’d to 5.8
I hope to get the other 2 done tomorrow so they’re all as close as possible with the root structure growth.

I just want to make sure I get this right. I’m about to order:

  • AutoPot Spring Pot XL 4 Pot System 25 gal flexi tank pro (5 gal Spring Pots) which I believe comes with the aqua5 valve updates.

** 1x 25 gal flexi tank*
** 4x 1Pot XL tray and lid*
** 4x 5 gal SpringPot*
** 4x AQUAvalve5*
** 1x 1/2″ – 3/8″ flexi tank tank adapter and filter*
** 2x 3/8” in-line tap*
** 2x 3/8″ cross connector*
** 4x 3/8″ tee connector*
** 13ft of 3/8” pipe*
** 4x PotSock Round*

  • small golf balls
  • additional shutoff valves for each spring pot line

am I missing anything else? More 3/8" pipe? I already have wavemakers and I’ll be using Jack’s and coco. Thanks!

I would get inline taps(shutoff valves) for every tray, one for the reservoir and 1 for the end of the trunk line. Everything else looks good although I don’t really know much about the flextanks.
That’s all available in a kit right?

So I’ll need 6 inline 3/8" taps? And yes, it’s a kit I’ll be purchasing!

I’d get extra T and X connecters they break pretty easily if you’re trying to disassemble the lines for cleaning or reconfiguring. Also extra valves are a bonus for controlling each pot individually.

You might want to check out webhydroponics prices. I think I posted a discount code above and free shipping. Although there might be some nice Black Friday sales around…
grab a few extra top and bottom silicone valve thingys while yer at it

yep, I’ll be ordering from webhydroponics! But you’re right in that I should maybe wait until black Friday. What are the silicon pucks for again?

There’s 2 of them on every aquavalve. They’re what control the flow/non flow of water. Just tiny little squishy silicone things

I was hunting for that shopping list. Thanks again!
