A 400w light, even with some small additional lights, it’s not enough for all those plants

ignorance on what to do with pH. The ad for the light said 1500w, when I looked at the info on light itself for questions being asked here it said 400. I’m sure ignorance played a role here also. I could be reading the info wrong. here’s what it says.

I bought a 2nd (supposedly lesser wattage light). I have been using this one with the younger plants in another area. It would seem I should change what light I use where. here is its label.

How many plants are you growing now? I thought it was just 1 with 7 pics of it

The typo in the warning box makes me weary that you’re even going to get close to even 400W. Definitely invest in some quality lighting. HLG, AC infinity, spider farmer are much better options. Look for Samsung LM301 diodes.

Only growing one. This would explain good starts with weak finish.

I have ordered a water pH meter and a light & temp meter. I could use help finding a chart with proper levels of both to continue this grow and improve my next.

Do you have an iPhone or android phone, you can check PPFD with an app called Photone to help with light adjustments. And weak finish with what lights you have might have older doides… 400w is more then enough power to grow 1 plant!!! Just need to know if it’s true 400w and where to put it each stage. Is the PH meter you ordered does it also do ppms? If not you will also need a ppm meter. The light meter you ordered will be more accurate than the app I’m sure, but until it arrives the app helps.

I saw the app and gave it a try. I felt it got me closer, but I question the accuracy of my android phone.

I understand what you mean… That’s why I asked iPhone or android… If it was iPhone you would need buffer. And as long as you have settings right it’s close.

I’m also going to look for PPFD maps for your lights…

Yaiyan 400w

Kingled 1000w

I couldn’t find a map for it but what I was able to find is this…

So in fact that “1000w” light is only 180w.

I have a second, seemingly stronger light that says 1000w.

I moved this light over my adult plant. I plan on using the other for seedlings. I just need to measure the light when I get my meter later this week.

What?? That’s not right, b@stard,
Thats why it’s better to get lights from a grow shop, whats that w 1000 then?

Use the photone app for now, it gives you a decent indication

What a hero @DanB, you really stepped it up to help @gamsman

I found this chart on a old post by a user @ChittyChittyBangin . I’m not sure how to tag a person and didn’t want to revive a year and a half old post. I should have my new meter today and thought I would use this as a guide with my 400w & 1000w.

I still use this chart

Question I hope you can answer. The row for Ave. Light Intensity, how does that relate to Lux or FC?

I only use ppfd believe it or not.

Hi @gamsman I used a blurple, 280W plus additional lights, I was usually between 30,000 and 40,000. Because of the color of these lights its hard to get a par or ppfd… some of the spectrum is used, some is missing, some is wasted. Somebody here used the Blue/Red setting in an app and the numbers didnt make sense.

Goes out of range at 40,000
