A Little late but here are some pics. We’ve been between 105-109 F for the last 10 or more days so it’s hard to tell if some of their issues are heat related. Issue meaning some yellowing leaves with some crispiness to them. It’s supposed to cool off here starting tomorrow!

I trimmed inside of all of them and trimmed them up a bit
to allow more airflow, mostly you can’t even tell I did anything but look at the pile of leaves and stems trimmed! Each pick are the leaves from that plant! All in all, I tossed more leaves and stems than were in a single indoor plant I’ve grown LOL!

Worms are super happy, I found another female flower on the cantaloupe, and I’ve got, what I think, are roots growing on my window ledge clone.

Good morning ROG!!! Thank you! It’s been so hot here, I haven’t spent hardly anytime in there. I usually love to hang out in the morning and have coffee in the morning but not right now. Heading to the hills to go get out of the heat and go f or a hike! Have a fabulous day!

Plants look amazing! It looked like you defoliated what most people would consider a plant. :joy::sunglasses::metal:t2:

Yes, this fire is quite a ways north - up to 350,000 acres as of this morning and it only started Wednesday afternoon. They guy who set it was an ex-con with a lengthy rap sheet and he lit his car on fire and pushed it into a gully just north of the town… Fire season has just begun though… if we would just start punishing these f’ers to the full extent of the law and make them personally go around and apologize to everyone affected… And I mean everyone! We’ve gone to many trailheads to go hiking and moved on to the next because it was all burned… No shade anymore and a barren wasteland and mere carcass of what used to be absolutely beautiful countryside.

Appreciate it. I am all good. I am closer to the west and many many miles away from the big one going on right now.

100% agree, my neighbor was supposed to go to their cabin this weekend but those plans changed. I was telling them the exact thing you’re saying…buuutttt knowing our state, they will let him go with a misdemeanor and just raise everyone’s taxes.

Yup! they let the father/son duo off who started the Caldor Fire and burned the entire town of Grizzly Flats down. They were in the area shooting (a machine gun and a few other automatic rifles). A witness saw it happen but what got them off was they were the ones who called 9111. They claim they didn’t do it but they only saw it and called.

Oh, and they were let off with the FELONY gun charges too. Now I am a long time shooter and gun-lover but given what they did… well, ya’ know.

Omfg!!! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: I can not believe that :poop: !!! The ignorant mofo should be locked away for a very long time and forced to help replant trees and other species there (if and when possible).

Praying for everyone safety

Have a question for you (off topic) since you live in cali
Is there any truth that the size of most of the fires is caused by lack of forest management?

I totally believe that is true! For decades now the ‘tree huggers’ and ‘advocacy groups’ fought long and hard to stop deforestation (aka clear cutting).

Save the trees and all that blah, blah, blah.

Clear-cutting provides natural fire breaks. Reduced funding also targeting police and firefighters means lack of resources to go in and clean out the forest floors of debris which has now been building up for decades.

We’ve noticed it on our hikes. More and more felled trees and forest floor debris than ever before. Nobody is maintaining it. It sound like an impossible job but with the proper resources, it can happen again.

But now, we hire Chinese groups to come in and clear the burned forest areas… we pay then AND they get the lumber for free and export it… true.

Wow, that industry has really moved in an opposite direction!
Seems like this is what we’ve been doing with cardboard, plastics, and metals. Export them only to have them sold back to us as finished products….
If we did that here, at least our neighbors would be employed.
Sad really.

Same thing up here in British Columbia. Only now are they starting to listen to the natives and are thinking about controlled burns to clear out the dead underbrush. For decades it was log everything, but then when the rain come it washes all the top soil away and then trees won’t regrow there. The rivers rise quickly, all muddy, then 2 days later back to not much run. Used to be that it would rain, the water would slowly rise over a few days and then slowly drop, water would be clear. That’s what clearcutting did here.

If they did selective logging and preventative burns, it would prevent these massive fires that burn for months (or years, they smolder all winter underground then flare up again when it dries up on the surface). With the climate changing the way it it, it’s getting hotter and dryer sooner every year, and each year we now have record burns every year.

There were some wicked fires in Canada this year. There was smoke down the eastern seaboard of the US. Some of that smoke made it all the way down to Florida even.

We do controlled burns here to mitigate the fire risks. I can’t remember the last big fire we had here. I was young, so it’s been quite some time.

Yeah, I just saw a headline that Parks Canada wanted to do controlled burns in Jasper back in 2022. Now a third of the town is gone. Bloody bureaucrats and whiners who know nothing about how nature works, by the time they figure it out there won’t be any forests left to burn!
