Seedlings and development

In that you want the most light possible from day 1 and the fact that my grow lights are not as strong as the sun, at what temperature can I safely put two day old seedling outside for the day?
Thanks
Chris

Seedlings do their best in temps in the high 70s to low 80s. Especially under LED. I wouldn’t put them outside if the temps are way different outside then inside. It’s only going to stunt the plants

Thanks for the quick response. Just that I have a neighbor who puts 2 foot plants out when it’s 4 C, with out a problem, maybe they are strains for the north. One other thing will a heat mat promote leggy plants as well as root growth?

Marijuana will grow in colder environments. It just grows much slower. Though they don’t exhibit any issues, they likely would be more robust if he/she didn’t put them out when it’s that cold.

Not having enough light is what causes leggy plants. What light are you using? And how far away is it from the plants?

Hi, Yes that I knew, they germinated very quickly in one day in fact, that night they sat in the dark, by morning they were already close to 2". They went under the lights with a heat mat that day, by night they were close to 3". I wondered if the bottom heat was a contributing factor (to legginess) in that the roots were protruding from the peat pod the following morning, (which is the bottom heat) I turned the mat off just in case. I am very impressed with the effect on the roots though, I’ve never seen growth like that without heat.
Thanks

Yes a question of light versus temperature.
Thanks.

Two fluorescents plant lights 1/2" away. They seemed fine last year to start them as long as they almost touch.
