Seedling turning yellow and burnt tips

Yes 12hours of sunlight

That doesn’t matter, it just save you a step in buffering the coco yourself before using it.

Coco binds with nutrients and the cal-mag helps block that from happening. cal-mag is necessary when using coco and you need to use it every time.

Thanks for the tip, I should also mention I’m using the green planet backcountry which is a slow realise fertiliser. The idea is that I don’t need any other nutes when I use this I’m guessing it would have cal mag in it also. Would you Still recommend I get some extra cal mag in there ?

@Danj10 The things you are doing “might” be ok with a soil grow, but growing in coco is a totally different experience. The reason growers like me use coco is because you have 100% control of what and when the plants are fed. Using a slow release fertilizer totally defeats that control. You want to be able to control the nutrients ratios of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium for different stages of growth. Vegging requires higher ratios of nitrogen, flowering requires higher ratios of phosphorus and potassium, but varying the ratios of those and others throughout the grow is desirable when issues arise with individual plants.

For example, I’m currently growing two different varieties and they have different requirements. I started feeding them the same, but one of them started showing deficiencies and I needed to greatly increase the amount of calcium I’m feeding the one plant.

I find starting seeds in coco challenging, so much so that I start them in a small pot of soil and transplant them into coco when it’s ready for transplant.

Your plants should be well established by now but most would still consider yours seedlings. You really need to change up what you are doing because it isn’t working.

My suggestion to get back on track would be to carefully remove your plants from the coco. The roots I’m sure are not well developed so you should be able to easily remove them. Get some cannabis friendly soil. Buy it locally because it will save you a bunch of money. If you don’t know where to look for cannabis friendly products locally you can do a search on local hydroponics stores and you should find some selling cannabis products. If that fails go to Fox Farms dealer locator and you can find where their products are sold. Not all the locations sell soil so you might have to check around.

With soil you can get by without feeding 4-6 weeks or more depending on size of container. Once the nutrients in the soil are consumed you need to feed, just no way around it if you want great results.

Fertilizers don’t have to be hard or confusing. There are many choices, some harder and more confusing and more costly than others. Seems that a favorite on this forum is jacks 1-2-3. It is just two parts with epsom salts and you just vary the ratios of the three over the life of the grow. I’ve never used it, but there are numerous threads on this forum of very successful growers using it.

I’m an old timer who started with fox farms nutrients but there are certainly easier products. I keep trying different things and actually have 4 different lines of nutrients to use up. What I discovered is that it doesn’t matter what brand of nutrient you use so long as you give your plants the right product when needed.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I’m pretty committed on the coco and green planet 3 part nutrients as It wasn’t cheap considering I’ve just started up. I’ll try a few things recommended from this thread and hopefully can turn these seedlings around.

Unfortunately the clear container didn’t do so well, does it point to what would have been wrong with the seedling?

@HappyHydroGrower
This seedling has had a pretty rough go at it, do you think you could help @Danj10 out here as coco/hydro growing isn’t my method. It appears this little one has been cooked to a crisp, looks like nutes but I am not 100%
Thanks grow bro!
