Seeding problems! Poor Loretta!

I can give that a try. I really don’t want tons of amber, I’m pretty lazy and don’t need help that way. I always prefer to start out with an “energetic” high so I do mindless stuff like clean, do laundry, you know. Then relax and enjoy some music.

I’ll look for a bottom bud to snip perhaps tomorrow, and see where I am in couple of days.

I know there’s some “flex time” in the harvest, though since Lucy’s window for topping was five minutes in the middle of night of day 12 or some such nonsense, I think harvest could come up suddenly. I know I’d be able to see a lot of amber easily if it were there, so I’m not too tense - yet.

Me and these damn edibles, I start one sentence and lose track of what I was saying by the end.

LOL!

Not wanting much amber is good for not dragging out the harvest window.

I look forward to hearing back on the experiment.

I suspect that’s why my friend is in week 12 of his Afghan Auto and still not done. I know he just wants to sink into a near coma.

He’s got his teenage grandson and his daughter living with him…

Yeah, I get it.

We have our elderly mother-in-law with dementia living with us. Sorry about your friend, if he doesn’t have access to weed yet! The other day, I needed that couch coma, yummmm, it was so good.

I wonder if Afghan (auto) takes longer. I’ve mentioned my slow poke to you. She is on day 77, and her pink-ish/brown pistils are just poking around on almost all of the buds, so she still has awhile. But, it looks like I’m going to get more buddage from her than from my White Widows. Your friend will have lots of good weed, he did a great job training!

Yeah, he’s at day 89. He’s 30 days ahead of me.

OK, I snipped a tiny budlet from the bottom of Lucy. That did allow me to finally get decent pics.

Hopefully these are better.

Look at that bottom Pic, I see amber…

Yeah, another advantage of snipping off a bud - better pics, lol. As always, ensure this is on the bud, not a sugar leaf. I know, this stage of the grow can be a bit frustrating, at least it is for me at times. Well, see how her budlet does for you! :smoking:

Amber but the heads of some of your trichomes are still fairly clear.

Think of it like this: there’s all kinds of trichomes all over the plant but the ones that matter most are the ones that look like mushrooms :mushroom: - the rounded cap on the trichome is where you see the maturation to indicate THC levels. When most of the mushroom trichome “caps” are cloudy, you’re going to be around peak THC potency. As the amber creeps in your thc is degrading into CBD (or cb-one of those). That’s also a no-harm thing, since cbd has so many beneficial properties. Clear trichomes are immature and have little to no THC OR CBD - so it behooves someone looking for the best “bang”’for their buck to hold out and wait for the mostly cloudy/some amber versus panic-chopping once the amber creeps in. I’m a panic chopper, trust me, I know what I’m talking about.

Thanks for the sanity check; it seemed that some trichomes are clear, and then it’s like well, but there are some amber … and some are cloudy … ha! Another poster recently mentioned in a different thread that it can be easy to be mind f*ck’d with these trichomes - I concur!

It often seems like the hardest part of the grow, waiting, the plant is seemingly doing nothing, but it’s important to wait.

I think you meant CBN. :upside_down_face:

That wouldn’t surprise me. I have a hard time keeping all the raw cannabinoids separate. Like as far as I can retain is THCa is raw THC. :joy:

Well good morning and thank you everyone! I figure the tiny little budlet I pulled will at least give me some idea of what to expect - I have it in a paper bag chilling, and I’m not going to roast it or anything so I’m waiting into next week anyway.

Yes, I figured determining “peak ripeness” would be a bit of a bitch. Fortunately, yesterday I went to the eye doctor and had plugs put into my tear ducts - I have dry eye that makes my vision cloudy - so today I can see pretty well. That will help.

I’m pretty sure I’m not going to let her go too long - just don’t want to be too soon either.

 Yeah, I know what you mean about keeping all of the cannabinoids separate. :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

1-8-22 Day 61 and the end of another week - my cute little Lucy has come so far!
She is really slowing down on her water use - or else she’s gaining weight, or both. 8.2 last night and this morning. It got down to 64 degrees in the tent overnight - I did close the window last night because it’s going to be in the teens and twenties at night for a bit here now.

I’m glad I’m documenting her every day - this morning I noted her “crown” is larger. The buds are swelling a lot so I guess I know what she’s doing… getting ready to make me a very happy “green mom”.

Her tiny bud has dried out to a point where it can be smoked. I don’t do wake and bake so I’ll hold it till later today. I’m thinking of vaping it so I can really taste it - I may be sorry b/c she is smelling a bit more grassy today. (This clearly demonstrates why curing is an important part of growning.)

No matter what, I KNOW I’ve smoked worse, I’m so old I was paying $5 for a quarter oz back in the day.

Oh, and here’s the new setup… Nothing planted yet, chilling the pots for couple weeks per the Pot For Pot directions.

Still have to move the giant filter, which I’m going to attempt to hang above the light because that sucker runs hot.
