Right size inline fan for tent

Hey all, trying to confirm the right sizing method to calculate the CFM required for my tent. Using a gorilla lite 4x8x~7 for dimensions. Im trying to confirm I need an 8 inch fan rather than 6.

The AC infinity site has a formula where you take the base CFM (using above measurements) and add 20% for ducting, 60% for carbon filter, 20% for silencer, and 50% for heat from lights.

That makes the required CFM 775. Look like the AC T8 has 807CFM while the AC T6 has 402CFM.

Thanks everyone!

That sounds about right by my calculations.

It depends on who you ask, I’ve heard that you want to replace the air in your tent 1 time per minute all the way to 5 times. I think 3 times is enough to keep my tent cool n dry. So your cubic ft x 3 is the cfm you need imo

I would say an 8" exhaust fan and 6" supply. That will give you a good exchange rate and allow for some heatload from lights, a/c, dehumid etc. Any less than that I would think underdone. :face_with_monocle: :+1: :sunglasses:

The 6” is quite powerful. That being said, for your space, do the 8”. You can always turn down if needed but you can only turn up so much.
