Richard1-1 Beginning Grow Journal

Hey @Richard1-1 are you getting the block coco? If so I would rinse it before mixing it in. They come with a lot of salt :salt: so rinsing it good and plenty will help take that salt content down. Just my 2 cents is all.

Now back to your regular scheduled programming.

Its already pre washed and comes buffered to help with ph fluctuations @Jbum it comes in bags not the brick,. Ive bought the bricks before but once i started using their coco i had less problem with high salinity.

Yeah I use the bags as well. I was just warning him about the blocks perhaps I should have been more specific my bad. I used that block coco and you could pretty much smell the salt it was so high!

I put the two seeds in the seedling soil after the roots started showing (but wouldn’t pop out)… Watered them just now a little around the sides of the pot, and, and the Little Runoff was 548 ppm… @Jbum , @Cyle1 , @imSICKkid

How long was the tap root sticking out? How long have they been in the soil. Dont put anymore water in the cup. No need to worry about checking runoff this early. Just keep a dome over them and try to keep the RH as close to 80% as you can. Just mist the dome, not the soil.

@imSICKkid … The root was visible for 3 days, but not poking out of the seed shell… Do you mean for Me to cut the Bottom from like a 2 liter bottle and put it On Top of the Pots, Outside in the sunlight all day covering the Seeds and dirt to make it like a Small Greenhouse effectively ??

Oooo outside I’m not so sure. That might turn into a little over. @Myfriendis410 do you suggest a dome for outdoor seedlings in direct sunlight?

That’s a pretty sure recipe for cooking the sprout. Shady spot or mixed shade under a tree or sunshade is better.

I did that once and a hour in it was wilted and dead cooked

Shady spot with a dome on top will do just fine. Bring em in at night to keep temps reasonable and in two weeks you’ll have a thriving plant.

The seeds are up and the dome is on the pots… I cut the bottom of a 2- liter bottle for the Dome?? … Next Question IS Do I leave it on there, or do I let fresh air in daily @Myfriendis410

I dont want tell wrong thing I personally have holes drilled into my domes to keep frech air going in I have to mist domes alittle more often but I dont mind

You can do like @Cyle1 suggested or remove the dome a couple of times a day, When you water, just spray the inside of the dome with a mist of distilled water. Watch the media but you likely won’t need any water there. If you do it’s like a teaspoon morning and evening.

I cut legs in the ā€œdomesā€ for ventilation, and because when I picked the first one up, it brought the top inch of soil (and the Seedling) Up with it when I Lifted it… The Tallest Seedling is Bigger, because it got the ā€œDomeā€ a day earlier than the Other…
