Reverse Osmosis that replenishes minerals. Good or Bad?

Anybody with experiences using RO systems that replenish minerals? ’m having issues with my grow, several months in it starts dying which I believe is nute:lockout. If it’s not the ph meter it’s something else and I think it’s just a good idea to get an RO system for drinking..

How old is the re-mineralization cartridge?

Maybe. It’s kinda vague guess but if you start a journal we can have a look and help diagnose issue to get you back on track.

Sorry, I don’t have one (ro system) yet but looking into getting one. I heard you have to add cal/mag for basic units but saw some that does replenish minerals and wondered if anyone has used one and is it necessary to add extra cal/mag or anything else.

@AfgVet uses one i believe.

Yes, you’re still gonna need to use Calmag. The re-mineralization cart puts back in necessary minerals, but that’s not enough alone to support demands of cannabis.

@Hoppiefrog uses RO with re-mineralization

@Jerdan03 I use the water drop series of RO systems… it claims to keep some good minerals in it so better for drinking…typical ppm is around 15-20 and it does taste good.. I used the ZERO water filter for a couple years and it puts out 0ppm but it never tasted good for drinking and only used it for the grow… I add cal mag to every tote change out but not in between change outs when just bringing the water level back up to where it needs to be in my DWC tote…have a great day in your grow room growmie… :cowboy_hat_face:

150 ppm of corosex or calcite or a combo will work best too buffer ph tho its hard to get up to 150 ppm with calcite alone , it would require a reactor (a contact system that basically circulates water over calcite for a extended period of time ) not sure if a minerilization cart would work if it was circulating back to rez but maybe. The combination of corosex and calcite is easier to get up to 150 ppm but buffers closer to 6.6

I know you use a lot of water. I’ve had several people tell me that they have no problem with the hose attachment. I was trying to find a picture of one.

If you’re having a lockout , it’s got to be something else. I use tap water. But every place is different. Not everybody has the same drinking water. I remember one time I had a hard water. You couldn’t do anything with a pH meter. I’ve always use pH perfect pretty much. Sometimes it’s best just to give them water for a few minutes.
