Proper way to flush when unsure of issue

Hey there.

So there’s a lot of ways to flush and I’m looking for info on how people do it when they’re having a deficiency but not sure if it’s lockout, ph, or something else.

I have a calcium deficiency thinking that it was low pH, so I watered with a higher pH, but the problem is still persisting. I want to add nutrients, but I want to make sure before I do that I don’t have a salt buildup.

So flush with 3 times pot then add nutrients at end? Is that best way?

If I do flush I’m thinking adding cal mag. Do I add cal mag before nutrients into water.

Im 2 weeks away from 10 weeks flowering but I’m losing leaves fast and don’t know what to do.

Some might suggest letting it ride until the end but I don’t think she’ll make it 2 more weeks way things are going

Only flush if necessary to correct a pH issue. What is your runoff pH.

It’s going to take more than that. A pot needs to be flushed down to a runoff PPM of 300 to 400 to correct pH.

What would you do? My ppms are 800 now. I’ve given 6.8 water twice and it’s only getting worse. I’m two weeks from finishing and it’s showing calcium deficiency.

Would you flush then feed? Would you feed only would you give Cal mag only? Would you do nothing?

Flush, give a light feed, then resume normal feeding once the soil has dried out and it’s time for watering again.

The light feed is because wet soil will not absorb nutrients very well and you need at least something to sustain the plant through to the next feeding.

Flush with RO water only? It’s difficult to stabilize the pH with RO water. should I add tapwater to stabilize the pH?

RO is preferred for flushing. If you are measuring the pH of RO you will get spurious readings because RO has no pH. It is not possible to measure the pH of RO water. Ions must be present for a pH to exist and RO is free of ions. RO will take on the pH of the medium into which is is introduced. When used to flush soil to wash out a salt buildup most good cannabis soils will revert to a pH of ~6.5 if flushed down to a runoff PPM of 300 to 400.

If you are having problems with RO water stabilizing pH, then you likely aren’t flushing down to a low enough PPM.

@MidwestGuy thanks for your help

You are in soil correct? Not coco?
