Your broken brown bag bud should start smelling better as it cures. Happy harvesting

Don’t microwave anything. Gross. Just let that bud airdry for a few days, then spark it up.
If you already flushed, no need to flush more. You can definitely give plain, unpH’d water. Cold, even.

I have at least until next week until chop, although I’m keeping an eye on the blue dream … it’s clearly going to take more time.
My biggest push would be for the purple haze, buds are super dense and leaves are starting to yellow and it smells heavenly and is sticky … I have it on my calendar as possible chop, and am keeping myself busy with as much other stuff as possible to help curb the inkling lol I’ll keep watch and post pics again Wednesday or Thursday

Definitely sounds like the purple Haze is a good candidate for your first chop. Just the triming will add time to your other plants

I can’t get a reasonable pic with the loupe but I keep checking daily… The purple haze and the big gold leaf are both definitely changing color, I’m seeing more leaves turn dark purplish and I’m seeing more leaves prepping to die off… the small tent has been running 2 GSCX autos which I am going to move into the big tent when I am ready for dark and chop… I thought I was super excited before lol the closer I get the more milky trichomes and seeing amber pop up the more I feel my anxiety run cause I know I have 7-10 days of drying and them burping for a month …

Quick pics today … stinky sticky fingers!!! That haze I think keeps throwing white pistols like it wants to keep going so here I am, just watching her grow… the BGL is thick and dense but I think has another week or 2 before considering the dark, she has a wicked earthy smell unlike any dank I have come across… interested in the diff in the high.
The blue dream has this one master cola with a ton of little buds… 2 weeks out minimally I think for that one… any thoughts… today I sat in the tent cause it’s 76 inside and it’s 45-50 outside in the barn. Have a good day grow-mies

So I am assuming all the yellowing of my leaves means harvest is close… I haven’t given nutrients for close to 4 or more waterings ago
Also… got to test a small piece of breakage … I’m happily surprised… I grew a good plant

Well … I did it … I took down my first plant… I gave her 30 hours of dark ( next one I’ll do the full 48 ) pulled her a bit ago, dawned gloves and grabbed my snips and went to town. I have no idea how much bud is gonna weigh but the branches were a bit weenier on this one and so we will see. Used a box 36x36x48 to string a set of lines in and put it in the coolest dryest corner of the basement, gonna check on the buds in 3-5 days then again at 7 and 10.
That was semi brutal feeling though… I mean I know my intentions were to grow and cut so I had herb but wow… I love that I had the feels while I clipped her up.
Questions. … all that foliage!!! Can I use it all to make budder??? I want to snip a bunch of sugar leaves and leave them in my favorite rum it’s like 94 proof I’m hoping that will take … are stems good for anything??? @blackthumbbetty I wish we were real face friends I’d just be bombing you with this but … do I have to dry all my leaf trimming before oven decarb??? Is it smarter to do that??? A here comes all the newbie questions in a stream of thought…

I brought one of the fattest cola tips to show my wife ( she’s been super cool with the whole process ) and she no joke said “ wow! That’s beautiful … I’m legitimately proud of you… that was a lot of work!!” We don’t pass out big compliments often or easily so that was enormous!!! I have 2 more that get the chop in between the 13th and the 20th depending on trichomes.
I started a little bergmans a while back and left her in the 12/12 tent with all my flowering girls and now she is about 8 inches tall and flowering … just gonna let that one go nuts til it seems like I should chop it , total experiment.
I have 2 GSCX autos that seem to be growing well and today I said f it and since my order from a different site ( that took like 3 months to get here ) got here I germinated 2 other seeds one crystal candy auto and a strawberry cheesecake auto both of which just sound scrumptious!!!
Do I need to start a fresh journal??? Maybe I’ll wait til after all my originals get the chop? Until then … thank you all once again!!! Now if I don’t mess up drying and curing I’ll be a happy artist with a happy heart!!!

About the journal it is totally a personal decision, my journal will span infinity (probably because I’m too lazy to make another

Super cool that you harvested your first plant today @ArtsNHearts. I don’t personally use any fan leaves for my butter and as far as the stems maybe feed em to the horse 
. If you continue this journal I’ll keep watching and if you start a new one tag me in. It’s been a pleasure tagging along.

Yes dry everything before decarbing, otherwise you’re going to have a lot of moisture to deal with. No need to cure, just a 7-10 day drying of the trim.

Congrats, I also would like to hear the smoke report …aI’m in either way on the Journal if you start another one tag me in…In my experience butter molds fairly quickly but you can use coconut oil and make most of the same food and I have never had any spoil …yet…
So the little nugget of the gold leaf that I snapped on accident a couple weeks ago is not a great taste ( it was young lots of clear trikes ) but was pretty heady… maybe 2 hour float, and my back never bugged me. I’m super looking forward to tasting this next nug ( purple have that came down ) in the next few weeks… the smell just before I cut was amazing… just sweet and grapey for whatever reason…
Apomixis isn’t understood, as far as I know, but it is understood to occur. Basically, it seems that unpollenated plants can self-fertilize without generating pollen. I want to stress that this is the least likely explanation for a seeded crop, but it is certainly a possibility. If you only find a couple seeds in a mature plant, it seems likely you’re seeing apomixis.

I have two girls left I think one can go another week… both are getting super dry… so I think I’ll water the one that needs time, trichomes are less than 50/50 and I want a few more red hairs on this one…
… stoner thing I did… totally hadn’t realized til today but I had my bergmans gl and my haze in swapped spots and harvested the GL … it was ready ( maybe a few days or more early but ) or super close but … yeah … I noticed the purple haze smelling super sweet and it caught me off guard… I’m laughing but I’m also glad I’m not freaking about my haze going from fruity sweet to weirdly earthy and danky
Question if you were to harvest top colas would you cut them in the evening and let the rest of the plant continue to go til it’s done? My Blue dream has a top on her the size of a fist and it looks super close to good under the loupe… I did want to put her into 48hr dark but some of the low stuff isn’t quite there

Congratulations on the harvest 
nice job. I don’t use fans for budder or oils but I do use sugar leaves. If you use your sugar leaves in your rum, freeze your decarbed trim and rum first. It will help make the trichomes break off easier. @blackthumbbetty has a good post about it. Higher proof would be much better at extracting but you can still get some results

So I dropped on the fox farms dirty dozen and I have a few things that look pretty good… recently dropped a wedding cake and a crystal candy auto seed and they will be my ffd12 test plants.
I put my haze ( yes the purple that I thought I dark sided last time ) in to the dark… she has another day ( tomorrow around 3 ) then it’s choppy time.
After drying and then clipping total weight on my bergmans gold leaf was only 2.2 oz … I suppose for a first grow it doesn’t suck but I was hoping for 3-5+
The blue dream is the last of the first grow girls standing and I gave her more water today … though I think she’s also ready… ???
Hopefully these seeds will germinate and I’ll have a new adventure with grow2 … wish me luck…
Oh smoke review on the Bergmans gold leaf … the first stuff I tried is a bit lacking in the flavor dept but has a nice high, I can function really well on this and I love that I don’t feel like passing the f out after a bowl or 2. I’m really looking forward to a fuller aroma and taste in the future …

Congrats and good luck on grow 2. I’m debating on pulling my Gold Leaf photo/auto/dunno. To spread out my Peyote Gorilla a bit more. She is almost ready but, probably needs another week. I need to make a decision soon. Ihope that all is well with you and yours. Be safe and Stay HIGH
