PR’s continuing grow adventures and member's hub (Part 1)

Lol overboard, that’s what I’m concerned about but not overly concerned

I did zero defoliation during its ridiculously short veg so there’s that

She’s an auto and I think she was a slow go-er and the veg went quickly

And btw she’s an indoor plant

Cool, I haven’t grown an auto yet so I’m not too sure on their growth rate. I have heard so many conflicting posts about defoliating in flower. Some are like “no way” and some say “in moderation”. I just clip here and there as I see fit, never too much except in veg and right before flipping to flower.

Gary is a fighter so all this autos can’t take it talk pashaw

Jk, I know they’re special little snowflakes (reason I’m never doing auto again)

I’m going to give a nice LITTLE trim
And see how she takes it, I bet she explodes with growth

Exactly the take I got from greengenes. Different plants respond differently. Snipping here and there, seems to make my girls explode w more growth! Next couple weeks, im just removing light blockers, and leaves that are laying in top of each other to prevent moisture buildup.

Not to mention, something that yall have repeated a lot, what works for you and your grow, may not work for anothers. Mine seem really happy, so im sticking with it for now. Once we really start to flower, ill reassess and of course ask for input again. This am I saw some signs of pistols trying to make an appearance. Sweet.

Looks good, I’d just let them go and stretch and then pull all the large fan leaves at day 21 of flowering, then repeat a week or 2 later as the small leaves grow into large leaves.

I do the same as well, my fan leaves will get red stems when they reach a certain size so when I defoliate, I just go after the red stem leaves first, then repeat in a week or 2 when I have more red stem leaves.

I talk about it here

I knew I heard it specifically from somewhere. Been following you for awhile now and there’s been a ton of info put out lol.

Now how about you go to tent and see a fan leaf totally blocking light to a top below it? Or, see leaves that are laying on each other. Thats what ive been removing every few days.

Yeah you gotta do what you gotta do, a fan leaf blocking light to a top, it’s gone, the top is more important than the leaf, leaves laying on top of each other, remove one or more so that’s not happening.

But leaf picking can be addictive, know when to stop and just let the plants go for a while before doing it again or next thing you know, no leaves left on the plant LOL. I like to space out my defols to once a week and pretty much do it every week for the first 4/5 weeks of flower than I let it go for the most part, maybe picking a leaf here and there as needed.

Both my outdoor sour diesel autos have now decided they DO want to flower. I had written them both off as duds. Sad specimens by growers standards, but im stoked that they weren’t a complete loss. We see. Buds forming faster than I knew was possible. Of course I know little to nothing about autos.

Pics are of each plant just now. Stinkers they are too. One of them has not the first spec of trichomes. Odd.

Confusing with autos, when to go from bloom nutes, to final density nutes. In this case, maxi bloom to kool bloom dry.

@KPC I know you are beyond stoked with your end game! Was that your first autos? Seems yes. Congrats again and great work. Im envious!

Yes first grow ever. Went well past my initial goal of 1oz per plant. I’m sticking with autos for this next grow at a minimum. Already itching to buy seeds for the next grow. Hope you get to feeling better.

Thanks. I’ve watched that video twice already, watching it again then onto some calculations.

Doc Bruce looks very much like a golf course superintendent I know. Instead cred, that guy could grow some grass!

Make it easy and select like 4 or 5 leafs onky. Just bigger top ones that cover any sites under. Outdoors dont really need defols as the sun is super pstrong and makes it in cracks and crevices the indoor lights dont. Defols wont hurt outside but be selective. Indoors is another story lol. If there is room around the plant and not tight against another plant then id do a few if smothered with alot of other plants with little air flow do a good defol. 21 days and 42 days is normals for flower defols and or lollipops

Couple things im curious about. After watering both with just water and calmag, runoff on one was 2300, other was 1800 ppm. Should I water only next time, and what is the healthy ppm runoff in second week flower? I do think im not watering to enough runoff, but i did this am. Other thing is should i continue giving them as much light as they can take ? Both look good, no signs of nute or light burn. At 270 watts past few days. @JJ520 @Hellraiser @dbrn32 @latewood
