Plugged carbon filter...why?

If it’s hard tap water that is clogging your filter you will know by taking off the pre-filter and when you beat it against the wall the salts from the tap water will go everywhere and create a huge white cloud, trust me I’ve done it before.

If it’s not your hard tap water clogging it then it won’t fill up the air with a white cloud

@TDubWilly is on point I’ll also ad that cool mist humidifiers cause this issue @TommyBahama
I run a evaporitive type humidifier and have never had a issue with my filters clogging
Also it’s best to control humidity outside the tent and allow moist air to be pulled into your tent or grow room this also prevents the filters from being clogged
The carbon really doesn’t like to get moist either so high humidity will also cause issues with your filters FYI
Happy growing

Ijust purchased an evaporative humidifier because ihad heard the exact same you said before

Vornado EV200 Evaporative Whole Room Humidifier with SimpleTank, 1.5 Gallon Capacity, White
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074XZ4K1H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_wk6uCb335AVNX

My question is, How come this is? What does an evap humidifier do different from a cool mist?

That’s a good one it doesn’t cause the minerals to be blown out of the humidifier there wick that traps it and no heaters in unit @TDubWilly

Steam humidifiers are the best but expensive and need a lot of maintainace
evaporative is next best way to introduce humidity

You’ll neee to size them properly in either case

Hope that helps explain it bro
