Dont know why my plant has white spots and the leaves look like they are burning up
Not for certain, but maybe spider mites? Looks like pests
Some kind of bug, I would spray with Captain Jack’s Deadbug or similar
I had same spots on my outside plants this year, I’ve treated for pests and mold / virus. No visible pests or webbing anywhere. The clones in grow room now have some , I just did a defol of affected leaves and they look better. Doesn’t seem to affect growth. The clones were outside till they started flowering and I brought them in to finish due to the spots. It’s not rust, doesn’t rub off. I really think it may be ph related, possibly nutes, but ph will cause all kinds of issues . I’d love to know exactly what it is but had no luck searching the internet. There’s one Northern Lights clone in there that never was outside and it doesn’t have spots, so they don’t appear to spread plant to plant.
I did read too strong nutes would cause it and these have definitely been fed. I’ve ran them at 2 to 2.6 EC but they grew good on it with no other issue or deficiency.
I think it might be the nutrients. The day before i took these photos i forgot to set my water outside to sit in the sun all day and burn off any chlorine. I poured my water from tap about 2 gallons ph usually around 8 maybe 8.5 and i give it a 1/8 of a teaspoon of PH Down that usually puts me around the mid 6.7 to 7.0 range but im thinking i might of messed up the PH or the chlorine from the tap water might of did it. I didnt know if it was a fungus im so close to the finish line and i done fought bud rot, bugs and all kinds of issue with growing outside next year im buying a tent
Im growing in ocean floor foxfarm soil.
Yes, the absorption of nutrients by plants can cause pH levels to increase, depending on the type of nutrient and its charge:
- Anions
When plants absorb anions, or negatively charged nutrients, the pH increases. For example, when plants absorb nitrate ions, they release hydroxide ions, which increases the pH of the root zone.
I found this and I think it answered a lot of my questions.
