Wedding cake auto Day 55 maybe a few weeks into flower. Using FFOF and FFHP, and dirty dozen. Just recently flushed and got soil ph to 6.2 and wanna help her get back. Ive top dressed Dolomite lime a few weeks ago to help with calcium and mag and ph balance. Seems to be affecting older lower growth. Looking for help and opinions. TIA.
Do u have pic of full plant. She could be hungry. Have u checked runoff?
Probably damaged from before the flush and you said “got to” not what was the run-off before.
My 5.3 PH plants look worse now, for sure.
Ph was about 5.6. before. It has been going on for a little bit.
These are from 11 days ago when i started to notice.
You could be right about being hungry. After the flush i added a dose of nutes with cal mag. When i was done ph was around 6.2 but only 700 ppm but i was putting 1400 in (my tap is like 380). Hoping it doesnt get much worse.
We should always hope, it doesn’t get worse.
Actually, if you have 6.2@750 comming out, Hungrey, I would imagine.
Good position to go forward and be in flower.
Since the war on low PH, I feed at PH 6.8-7.0 and 1000-1300.
I believe FFOF got me hot and I did not use dolomite lime.
Worse and compounding delayed recovery, was the PH pen going bonkers.
Found I was watering with 5.5.
Those leaves still look like death Most all my ladies are white flowering, no amber.
One plant the whites are gone buds are bare, No whites and no stubble, or amber.
Trichomes clear, still.
So after todays reading and distance learning support, I chopped off her six top colas.
Two or three inch buds, stickey, sweet and now drying.
Best to you. Apera 20 PH pen or better.
Okay good call. Ill wait and see what runoff is next time and go from there. Shes only in a 3 gal and seems to be ready in like 4 days for another watering. Thanks for help. Best of luck with you and your buds, bud. I think thats the pen i use. It was 50-60 bucks on amazon.
I see a pH issue affecting both Fe and K not Mg. you brought pH down to 6.s which is great. most nutes will auto pH water but lots of people forget to adjust their waterings. have you been checking that? ff soil is generally neutral to sour so something is bringing pH up in soil. try a healthy layer of peat it is naturally acidic.
also what is leaf temp and rh, your vpd may be off. if its too low plants will favor water over nutes.
Does dolomite help like CalMag or Epsom Salts? I thought it was just for raising ph?
Im not sure leaf temp but i have my HLG 350r about halfway hitting them with 350-400 ppfd and about 22’’ above canopy. Ive had the opposite trouble. I try to let the OF go as long as i can before flushing and adding nutes last two grows have been around 6 weeks. It was like 4.7 ph and 4500 ppm very first run off. Flushed it once and got it to like 5.9 and then i flushed again and got it to 6.2 and added nutes according to schedule. Temps are usually around 74-80 degrees and i keep rh around 60% right now.
Im pretty sure Dolomite lime does help with calmag it has both elements in, i used it to raise its supposed to stay around 6.0-7.0 naturally. First run testing it out but i do notice it being easier to raise soil ph after 2 weeks after to dressing. Got it up with like less than 10 gallons of water.
6.2 works. your dli is far more important than the ppfd, that just shows what they are getting now, your dli is over the entire 24 hour cycle. you can have a good ppfd and horrible dli. have a look at that. leaf temp usually is a degree or 2 off the ambient temp, that and rh will check your vpd and tell you what they are doing transpirationally. leaf temp is also beneficial for plant health, they get fevers just like we do.
keep in mind at 6.2 you are dangerously close to lockout of P, Ca, Mg, and Mo. with your vpd is high, not good as the stomata close off and prevent any transpiration. need to raise the rh to around 70-75% or drop temps you can go as low as 50 (which will bring out all her colors if she’s a purp strain) dont do both, usually temps are easier to control then rh.
Thanks for your response and advice. Its on my list to learn EC and DLI. Might have to start learning soon than later.
I do monitor and folliw vpd the whole time. Been around 1.1-1.3 vpd. Have you used the photone app to measure dli? Is it reliable?
