I was reading that I can run a 13-14 hour day on some strains and they will still flower because of their place of origin and get more weight out of the plant by doing so…?

This would make sense, and as I said here:

It is simple science and physics, shorter growing period means less time to put on weight, and less light means the plant has less energy to make THC or swell those buds.
