Ph lockout or lighting issues?

Alright guys coming back for some more advice. I am on my second grow. This round i went with candy kush autoflower. Also my first grow in soil. One plant ocean forest and the other happy frog. Last round i went coco and was pretty successful. These ladies have been pretty sensative the whole grow. Had a rough start as seedling i assumed from (hot soil) as ive heard at least ocean firest will do sometimes. But they appear saggy pretty much all the time. I water every other day thinking they are dehydrated. But all the same they stay saggy. But recently i changed up the whole set up. Taller tent to accommodate a bigger light. I went fron VS 1000 vivosun to a 300 rspec. The light hangs 19 inches at highest point of the one plant 20 from the other. I have noticed obviously it has been warmer. About 80 degrees. The plants have been even more saggy. Also some discoloration in a few leaves. I put sledgehammer through today thinking maybe lockout. I water at 6.4 ph. My runnoff ph is 6.2 on one 6.5 on the other. Ppms read 1335 and 1690. Am i locked out? Lack of water? Should i water daily? Or is this lighting? Thanks in advance!

These numbers are fine. I would prefer PPM a little closer to 1,000, but the plants seem to be taking it well.

No. Cannabis needs wet/dry cycles when in soil. Water and then let the soil dry out before watering again. Drooping is sometimes a symptom of overwatering.

The plants otherwise look fine.

Overwatering you think? If i wait that third day they get to looking even worse. And my soil appears very dry. Dry to my second nuckle at least. I have alot of air flow?

Cloth pot? If so can soak her to runoff then go wet dry.

Learn the weight of your pot not the feel of the soil. Your size if you’re in 3 gallon every 3rd day. If you’re in 5 gallon every 5th day. I’m just generalizing for you based on my grows and size.
Drench the pot till run off every water.

Yes cloth pots. Thiy sit on a draining platform so they don’t sit in runnoff to prevent root rot. I do have a fan sitting on the bottom of the tent. Maybe i am drying the soil out too quickly?

Ok. I will try every third day watering. Worth a shot! Thanks!

I fight it all the time. Low humidity here. Before organic i had to water pretty hard every couple days. Organic now so water every day. Has to stay wet. Like @BigItch said…soakem all the way. Check next 3 days to get a feel for weight. Then can hit a wet/dry cycle comfortably.

Ok. Seems like thats what everyone is thinking. I will cut back on the watering a bit and start getting a feel for weight. Thanks for the advice!

Ok , my frist thought looking at the picture was over watering. (Heavy drooping leafs) good luck :+1:

@13runner are your girls wilty in the mornings or days end? My GSCE Auto wilt after defoliating, watering or practically every night before lights out lol yet in the am they look stupendous!! Maybe they’re just sensitive in general. Your pics look like healthy ladies set on flower power.

When you water/feed your plants , do you get a lot of runoff at the bottom? Should be at least 20% so you don’t run into nute build up in the soil.

Yeah honesty they look like this most of the time. They used to perk up day after watering. The one on the left pretty much just stays droopy now though. Im wondeting if they have gotten worse since the light change. Not a hundred percent sure. They have always been a little sensative.

I always make sure there is at least a litte runnoff. The one absorbs more then the other. But i water a half a gallon each everyother day. Sometimes a litte more to ensure runnoff.

What size pots you using?

3 gallon pots.

3 gallon cloth pots. Thinking too little water?

It depends on how much runoff you have on what you’re feeding. For instance I feed 10 gallon fabric pots 2 gallons every 3 sometimes 4 days. But when I do I have about 1/2 a gallon of runoff to remove the old nutes and salt build up in the soil. That 20 to 25% rule is critical. I learned the hard way :joy:
It was almost a complete disaster but I caught it early enough.
If you’re running a half gallon through and getting at least a pint of runoff you should be good. I’m not sure if every other day is enough dry time though.

If you’re getting a half cup or cup of runoff I’d bump it up to a gallon and wait 2 days, check it and if the pot still seems heavy wait until the 3rd day to water/feed again. The wet and drying out system in critical. You definitely don’t want salt build up. It was mentioned earlier that 1100ppm coming out is better to be in.

@13runner it may be that you need to let the roots dry out more in between watering. Maybe your pots aren’t draining well and it takes longer for them to absorb the moisture. I’d recommend spreading your watering cycle further apart and keep track of it. Think saturation and then drought. A light weight pot is ready. Root rot is real and they may be showing you wet feet.

Yeah i think the general consensus that i am overwatering might be right. I am going to see how every 3 day watering with adequate runnoff goes. Also get a feel for pot weight. I also can’t help to think such a jurassic change in light output might be the culprit for the discoloring. Im going to move it up a little more and turn down the dimmer a bit. Fingers crossed! Thank you for the advice! Hopefully i can turn it around.
