Ph is going through the roof? What the hey?

Hey fellow grow nerds.
I have an Acapulco Gold whose runoff is getting REALLY high (I always ph my water “in”, of course)
Last measurement of runoff was about 7.3
However, I did a slurry and it read at about SIX!!!
Are runoff numbers this wildly inaccurate?
(By the way, she is eating well. I fed her nutes at 1500 ppm at got 900 back in the runoff)
Also. I have two other indoor plants going that are not exhibiting any of these issues. Runoff ph is PEGGED at 6.5(ish). :grinning:
What say you? I saw some other topics on here describing a similar problem of ph suddenly going through the roof and I saw a lot of head scratching and plenty of “that can’t be right” but no definitive solutions or diagnoses.
Also, I recalibrated my PH pen just for good measure and got the same.
Thank you.

What type of soil are you using? Also are you seeking any deficiencies?

Fox Farm ocean forest.

No deficiencies. The buds look great. I guess the color is a little light on the leaves but that is the only thing I would pick out if I had to.

I would just continue to PH at 6.5 and keep a eye on those leaves. Curious, what type of nutrients are you using?

If you get a chance try to post pic of your girl. It always helps to see the plant, occasionally someone may be able to see something helpful.

The FF trio at half recommended strength and watering to 20% runoff, dude.
Got me perplexed.

You may need to flush, ff recommends flushing on a schedule. So if you are in flower and haven’t flushed, it wouldn’t be harmful. This will also help reset ph levels in soil. If you do a flush be sure to water immediately afterwards with nutrients to help replace what’s flushed out.

Man. I hate to say it, but I already did that my brotha. I can try again since it has been a few days I guess.
How much do you recommend I flush with?

@ShockDog It’s generally 3 times the pot volume.
If the runoff is good at 2 times then all good. Feed and reset.
Usually under 900-1000 ppm.

You might try dropping the pH of your next feed to 5.5 and pH afterwards.
I have had a plant that kept going low on the pH during flower and I had to raise pH for about 2 weeks until she completed stretch. It was an auto Gelato from ILGM. I had five other autos from ILGM; wedding cake(2), Zkittles(2) and gelato(1) that did not drop pH during the span. Just that one plant. I am using DWC and even the weekly water change out did not stop the madness. On the third week she settled down.

Since you have flushed already you may want to just hold the coarse, Unless you are seeing issues. Sometimes it’s best to not try to fix something that isn’t causing issues.

That was my conclusion as well. Just give it what I KNOW it needs and ride the lightning.

Post a picture if you can :+1:

I think the fox farms ocean forest disturbs the PH I just did my first grow and I used FFOF it disturbed all ph levels and I ph the water every time

You might try letting your water sit for a few hours, I use an aquarium water filter to scrub my water over night. I hear you need to wait for dissolved CO2, carbonic acid when dissolved in water, to evaporate back to CO2 and let any chlorine dissipate. This should stabilize your water prior to adding nutrients.

Here you go, buddy!

Thanks, buddy. I truly appreciate it.
I know that color is kind of off but of my six plants I got going (three outdoor) it’s the ONLY one I am having issues with.
Appreciate your input.
