LOL. yeah well don’t have to beat myself up… this trimming is gonna do it for me. neck and back are killing me and maybe 1/4 done. my “help” magically disappeared this afternoon as well, too.
i guess this is what you call shake? i gotta toss all of the leaves tho. this was that super disgusting plant. so it’s multi step.
but learning, YES.
1- no growing outdoors
2- foxtailing = bad
3- future lesson will demonstrate whether it was worth the extra 10x hours of trimming to get this fluff extracted.
4- i need to figure out my drying game. over dried again.
a) tent method with my AC hooked up to it still dried too fast
b) the snap indicator is not working for me. gonna put buds in jars with a hygrometer next time to test
Northern Lights - two week cure report. overdried at 53%. still smells like mangoes and tastes nothing like them. it’s pretty harsh but holy hell, strong. it gave me a lovely full body buzz massage from head to toe and i was out like a light in a half an hour. sparking up a second evening in 3…2…1…zzzzzzz
FINALLY finished trimming the blueberry. it was over dried to dust and was a little over 8oz of total fluff. 7oz are what i would barely called buds and the other 1oz are nubs that i’ll use for edibles. or it’ll all be used as edibles if the buds turn out to be junk. looking forward to trying my hand at coconut budder.
rehydrating slowly with boveda packs and also a tiny humidifier that i place at the mouth of the jar and fill up with cool steam and seal.
this took way too long to trim, likely because it was all fluff and also the need to get off every disgusting outdoor leaf.
looking forward to trying this though in a few days, i think it should be a good strain for me. smells like blueberry muffin batter. also got what i think are a few grams of kief.
this pretty much wraps up this outdoor grow, other than the baby berthas that are cloning in the background. that experiment is here:
tried searching here and didn’t find much. mine is sticking to the jar and i’m worried it’s gonna get moldy. not sure if it’s just sticky or if it’s humidity. it’s in a little jelly jar.
Put a Boveda pack in it. It will dry out eventually whether you like it or not. I personally put it in the fridge. If smoking it you don’t need to decarb it. Kief is shaken from cured flower so in theory it’s ready to rock 'n roll. The flavor will change over time but that’s true of all of it.
i got the keif from trimming before the cure. but ya i can stick a pack in there. it’s just such a small amount compared to the size of the packs. and everything i read said no packs before cured for flowers
i’ll probably do that sooner than later, just don’t want it to go bad in the interim. i have a little more learning to do and feeling tapped out tonight
