i don’t test. i use AN nutes which buffers everything. i’m wondering if the plant hit a pocket of built up salts? it’s also getting the same food as the other two plants which aren’t doing this (yet?)
I would def do a run off test. Your PH might be too high creating nute lockout. I would recommend flushing if you think salts are an issue or if PH is high.
you think it’s ok to wait til tomorrow to flush?
the ph may not tell me anything but i’ll check it tomorrow. there’s no range with this stuff to shoot for. it doesn’t alter the Ph of the solution but creates a zone at the roots that allows the plant to take everything in. this was the response i got from them before i started growing. but… i’m a noob.
do lockouts make things go south this fast? like… within hours? i feel like toxicity would be more likely but i’m basing that purely on theory.
ok gonna flush now. who am i kidding. i’ll be worried sick all night.
The plant needs between 6.3 and 6.8 PH to uptake nutrients correctly when grown in soil. What is your ingoing PH level?
@Agrestic Don’t flush yet.
lol too late. storm about to hit. and PH is not measured when using these nutes. using advanced nutrients in coco.
Even in nutrients that claim to balance the pH on their own, I’d still monitor it, so you know what’s going on in the soil. I’d bet your pH is a little high, locking out phosphorus, maybe magnesium. You might need to flush.
not trying to argue, asked for help, but my understanding with these nutes is adjusts the roots to accept a range and adjusting with up
or down could mess things up. flushing now. i’ll clarify with AN in the morning. and this is the only plant of 5 that suddenly did this right after feeding.
That’s another good reason to monitor it. Not every plant will eat the same.
it just happened really really fast. i THINK the rocks it was sitting on got covered in a thick enough layer of weeds to block some of the drainage.
flush done. let it sit till tomorrow and feed at 1/4 if i read a tutorial correctly. i am covered in mosquito bites.
Man, that sucks! That’s one bonus to living in the desert. Fewer bugs, but it’s so hot.
my retirement plan is going to look something like a split between AZ and MN. i hate living here. the temp finally gets below 90 at 9pm and you still can’t go outside. i love the desert but i’ve never lived in it.
ok. i’m an idiot. i wrote my plan down and then at the last second spaced. i got pretty exited about my new toy which was supposed to allow me to fill one 5 gallon bucket, measure once, walk outside once and feed. of course now this 10 gallon pot just felled a tree across easy street so it took 3 buckets.
AND. i fed my NL, which was flushed last night, at 75%. d’oh. i removed the badly damaged leaves so hopefully it’ll be pretty obvious if this progresses.
but i do like this. but dammit i’m still making three trips. i keep telling myself it would have been 15.
and now my beloved blueberry… from other pics i’ve seen online when searching for rusty veins, it also indicates nute burn. maybe i spaced out two days ago when i was mixing or should have been paying attention to the runoff situation. i’ll likely be doing some more flushing. i have pics from YESTERDAY that show no signs of this. still thinking toxicity. a few of the NL have this too.
No idea what that is at all… dont look good tho
only other thing that changed was the hydrogen peroxide spray.
hungry and unreasonably cranky. gonna eat and flush. can’t hurt other than suck up more time.
Looks a little like Calcium deficiency, but not quite.
it’s weird, right? but it’s another thing that popped up over night so it’s either some sort of mold or external attack, or i poisoned it. i don’t think a deficiency would just appear that fast. early on i’d posted a question somewhere about preemptively flushing plants when using salt based nutrients and at least one maybe two people said they did right around the start of flower. it’s probably not a bad idea. esp in the heat when things start drying out daily. i should also get something under them like a grate. i thought i was safe having the pebbles underneath but maybe it’s not enough.
my blueberry gal is flushed. will see what happens next. not sure if the transplanting saved my AmHz from this. or if it’s even nute burn at all… ![]()
in the interest of documentation, regarding my initial leaf discoloration pic, bookmarking and adding this to a possible list of suspects. phosphorus. a few of my leaves look somewhat similar. it can also cause the yellowing of some lower leaves. and just like the human body, it interacts with calcium, so the whole ball o’ wax can get out of whack.
Sunday Family Photo. 65 Days from germination.
Blueberry is somewhere close to 3rd week of Flower and is looking an smelling great
NL second week and remains unimpressive
Amnesia Haze 1st week (FINALLY) and now clocking in at almost 42" from soil level.
Am Hz transplanted a few days ago to 10 gallons and seems fine. She’s getting 5 gallons of feeding every day now $$$ at 50% of AN bloom nutes
BB and NL getting 2.5 gallons per day 50% bloom nutes plus Big Bud at full strength just in case the leaf discoloration i’ve seen is from a phos deficiency. I took off all of the bad leaves so that I can better keep track if new ones pop up. happy to say nothing new over night.
Regarding the rusty leaves… I think it’s the hydrogen peroxide. happy to report no new mold growth but while i can see this rust on the leaves, what’s it doing to my trichomes? there isn’t any on the AmHz as I haven’t sprayed it yet because it just started to flower. i’m going to pick one leaf and spray tonight and see what we get tomorrow.
