Great info @Skydiver. Im planning on using mykos for the first time in my next grow. As far as i understand endomycos is usefull to marijuana and ectomycos is not.
Here is a link to another post of mine that has some details about mychorrizae that might help.
Thanks for posting this. It’s very helpful. I just finished making Subcool’s super soil using the recipe Garrigan posted and put it out to bake for 30+ days. Will use it for this years outdoor grow. It’s going to be so nice to not mix all the botanicare nutes for every gallon of R/O water. I will add cal mag and ph it though. So much to learn eh?
FWIW I got the Wallace WOW mychorrizae off his website. Lots of folks seem to like it.
Great info, I dont know how i missed that other thread but great read! Keep the info coming.
Cassandra mentions this in her video so I checked it out.
Seems good to use when amending soil before using and when recycling the soil from the last grow to better know what amendments are needed to rebuild the soil.
How to use the kit
So for me anyway for $13 per grow to better be able to know what I’m starting with and maybe another $13 after amending to know where I ended up to verify my mix is $3-4 per plant for an 8 plant grow. If you make a larger batch for the next grow at the same time then costs per plant are lower and the soil will store until needed.
Just another option to add to your tool belt
Hope this helps and HAGD
Sorry waited to long to edit the above…
Morning buzz…wrong strain…oops
I think what should have said was to test for the population of critters in the soil whereas when amending the soil using a NPK test kit would be best to know what amendments are needed when building or recycling old soil…
Dont know if i have shown this before, think i have but here it is again, good book
Worms Eat My Garbage: How to Set Up and Maintain a Worm Composting System, 2nd Edition Amazon.com
what ratio of egg shells to Epsom Salts do you recommend ?
Thanx:fried_egg:
5:1 Calcium:Magnesium is a good target. Just be aware of what your source water has in it and adjust accordingly. Sometimes tap especially if it is hard water will have a fair amount of Calcium already in it as well as other additives.
crushed shells slower release
Ground to powder shells quicker release (both are slow compared to most other CaMg because it’s being made available to the plants via the living critters in the soil)
You can top dress these. Just dig into and loosen up the top 1/2-1” and apply and work it in.
With Epsom salt you can do the same or add it to your water.
Haven’t tried adding the powdered egg shells yet but I’m sure I will at some point👌
Hope this helps and HAGD
Thanks Skydiver,
I shall give this a whirl on my Afghani’s
Again, many thanks for your time .
Further !
Yo man @Skydiver awesome info. I have kindle. What books should i read? Thanks man. Very helpful. Also doing modified garrigan recipe for 1st time. 25 gallon fabric pots this grow. 6 strains. Hoping for 10 GOOD plants. The more i read the better. Gathering materials, almost there.
Thanks again:sunglasses:
Glad you liked it @stretchgfw.1957
Theses are some of the books that I have sampled or read.
Many many out there.
Good luck on the grow!
Knowledge is power!
Just use it for good and not like our politicians lol
Hi. Much appreciated man. Knowledge IS power. You are right. You on the flood zone?
Is that a trick question? jk
Earth
70% surface covered with water
30% surface is above water
12% of the Earth’s surface is permanently covered in ice and snow, the majority of which is found in the polar regions
Water is .05% of total mass
What I’m thinking is we are all on the flood zone…lol
Well maybe only 80% of the worlds population is.
My location isn’t considered one but then again things are a changin
No man @Skydiver no trick questions here. Just looked at your profile. I have a friend that lives in your area that has huge flooding now. Damn interesting reading. Kindle is awesome. I under use it.
thanks one again for this great information…Cal/Mag heaven tomorrow here in western wales…
I forgot to ask you how often should I apply my cal/mag brew ?
My gals grow in homemade organic compost with perlite and a helping of coco as a topping .
I apply 5mg of Canna Flores twice a week and they live in a heated glasshouse outside.
