Right now i just grow in bought bag soil. fox farm ocean forest. its great soil. I guess lol to be honest its all ive ever used so can compair it to anything. i understand your stance on worms. I have the same one about spiders even outside. i dont care what benefits they bring to nature. If i see them it war. they terrifying me and I have an irrational fear that if i let them live they will get to me and will bite me.

Idk how irrational it is. There are some big, and not so big spiders out there can really put a hurting on you.

Here’s a visual for you to think about with red wigglers in your soil. A few years ago the wife and I decided to raise worms for castings, and to sell. We got our worm bed all done (inside the house for some stupid reason), and then a few days later we had a bad thunderstorm. We didn’t know worms are scared of thunderstorms, and we had a stampede. Woke up with worms all over the house. Seriously, look up worm stampedes. It’s a real thing, and I can attest to it.

Lol!! Then a shriveled mess for days.

It was a chore rounding them up. Ended my worm raising career in a hurry

@Dexterado WHAT?!?!?! Omgosh how awful! I would have had a coronary. There were 5 more so far in that same bag. That I’ve found anyway.

If you leave the worms and they live through to enitre grow (which is only benificial to your grow), you can harvest the worms and go fishing so you’ll have munchies after smoking…Just a little thoughful humor. Worms are fine!

Yeah, we learned a lesson for sure. Kind of like out of a Stephen King novel.

Ooooo… Munchies.

Well, I have quite a collection of King over there and don’t recall any that featured worms. You wouldn’t be talking Night Shift, would you? Refresh my memory.

I was just saying it was creepy like one of his novels.

@Dexterado Hey Dude. Is that story for real? Seriously? Cause idw look like a fool when I go into Lowe’s and show them what I found in 5 more of the 7 bags I bought, and when they say well that stuff, ie, red Wiggler’s, centipedes, giant worms, potato bugs, and maggots, is good for a garden, I can ask them with confidence do they know why night crawlers hit the surface during storms. So tell me true, are you for real? I am so pissed right now. That’s 5 bags all with a different kind of bug in each! I mean DAYUM. What the what?!?!?!

Sounds like you need to just grow in coco so you have little to no bugs at all. My "Living soil has these things plus other lifeforms. So focus on maybe growing with coco/perlite vermiculite mix or something with no pests.

My worm story is 100% true. I even read that stomping on the ground will bring them to the surface.

@@Dirtydabber Honestly, that’s exactly what I was thinking.

@Dexterado I thought it probably was the truth. Just wanted to make sure. I’ve decided to tell them, if they ask, that I am a prepper and grow vegetables for canning year round. Lol!

Welp, update… I put extra Perlite in the bags in the hopes of drying up any that I missed. I went to Lowe’s yesterday with my photos and the guy refunded 6 of the 7 bags without issue even after I made clear that I would not be putting the dirt into my car but if they want it they were welcome to come get it. They don’t want it back. Yay Me!
