This works. I learned this when I was in prison. You can’t just go to the doc and get something in the pen. I would hear a guy saying man I got a headache and I would be like dude I can fix that. Didn’t have a clamp, used my hand strength and would pinch the shit out of that spot for a 10 sec count. It would not always go away but would always alleviate the pain and make it bearable.
@MidwestGuy Whatever you do going forward brother, I hope you find a solution.
It will be very hard to get your prescriptions without a prescription for cannabis i know you said you were in an illegal state. Is medical allowed if so, get your card and there will be no issues✌️ even the small time docs have to worry about their license being taken too. Everybody’s way too itchy about Opioids these days
It seems that I am very fortunate to live in a “legal” state. My physician is not thrilled with my cannabis use but he certainly does not withhold treatment or scold me for it.
I went through the pain anything for 9 yrs, all they wanted to do was give me more pills, even when I said pain was manageable, still upped my dose each month. I told the Doc, why do I need to take more if I don’t need it? He said he was the Dr and I would do what he said. Well, that was his mistake, I got up and walked out. I found an acupuncturist and got to be friends with her, asked about weed for pain. Her reply? It’s absolutely wonderful, if we were allowed to research and develop, we could eliminate 90 percent of pharmaceutical pain meds, which is exactly why big pharma pays big bucks to prevent that research. She prescribed me dilaudid and told me to keep using the weed. The weed worked so well I took myself off the other stuff and only use my oil for the last 13 yrs.
My wife suffers from migraines.. cannabis has made a world of difference. Hasnt knocked them out completely, but they are less frequent and tolerable. Oh and to add, she gives drug tests for a living
I just got a note from my doc. I’m super happy that he didn’t give a rip about my cannabis use even though it is a violation of my pain management contract.
He asked a question after I tested positive and I wrote back: “Cannabis is used for pain. Hydrocodone and butalbital are certainly more effective than cannabis; however, the dosing frequency is every 12 hours. Hydrocodone is effective for only 3 to 4 hours and barbituates for 5 to 6 hours. If I must make a choice I will forego the narcotics.”
He wrote in reply: “Appreciate your message. I’m not concerned about marijuana. Just cut back on alcohol.”
I’ve been taking opiates and barbiturates for about 20 years and have learned how to calibrate other substances with them. No alcohol within 5 hours of a hydrocodone dose and not within 8 hours of a barbiturate dose. I’ve never felt at risk with this rule based on how I have felt (e.g no noticeable excess sedation.)
I’m going to ask the doc if I can just reduce to 20 doses (versus the 60 I am currently getting) of barbiturate per month for the worst migraines. I’ll rely on cannabis for the low to moderate migraines.
It turned out that my doc really didn’t give a rip about cannabis use (I’m not in a legal state.) He started pain meds again at the very next appointment, though at a reduced quantity, which I am fine with. I only use pain meds now for the very worst migraines, cannabis otherwise.
He hasn’t asked about it since, despite cannabis use being prohibited by a pain management contact I signed.
The hospital he is associated with requires re-signing of the pain mgt contract each Jan to receive narcotics. He hasn’t asked me to re-sign it this year.
