That’s awesome! I think after this grow I’m going to wait until winter to grow in my enclosed porch. I still have one more gg auto seed. Now that I know what I did wrong the first time germinating I’ll have better luck. Looking forward to seeing your grow. I think like you I might try the coco route next time. I did it years ago and had luck. Coco seems to be top choice for growers.
I am glad I was turned on to Coco. I know exactly what goes in and what comes out. It is harder, for me anyways, in soil. Numbers are still crazy after 5 months in Happy Frog and Ocean Forest. These GG girls look awesome from top to bottom. I have a 100% germination rate with all of mine. Let me know if you have any questions on that.
Will do. Might do coco in during my winter grow. I think I might kick off another grow as it starts to get cold again. I will say getting a new ac for my apartment has helped a ton. Temps have stabilized at 78 rh 50%
That’s good. My WW Autos were in late bloom, and we had a week of steady rains, over 10" in total. I was overconfident as I had zero issues up to that point. lesson learned!! it happened very quickly, literally overnight so I had to cut damage buds and by next day decided to go ahead and pull the plants and cut my loses. What survived, just over 4 ounces is very very smooth and uplifting
I tried to do Lts and split the stalk on accident. I ended taping it up and added some honey on the stalk. It doesn’t look like she’s phased by it. Kind of impressed with this girl. I did notice she’s growing hairs on it. I know with autos changing the light cycle isn’t as important but should I keep it at 18/6 or switch to 12/12? @jetlag
Autos do their own thing regardless of light. Their internal clock dictates what they do, but they obviously will do better with good light.
My girls in the greenhouse get mother nature’s light, and then the Spider farmer 4000 light comes on until 0300. No reason for that, I just figure they may need a couple of hours of dark. Right now it starts getting light after 0500, maybe 0600 before it looks light outside.
Just noticed the first sets of buds
Be careful with the chart and auto’s. Look around the internet for autoflower info. You will find temp and humidity is all over the place. I have seen temps any where between 65 to 75 and higher. Rh from 50 to 60%. And they all seem to agree on 24hr light cycle. And that it will double your harvest. A few say 20/4. Others say 18/6. Anything less and your yield will suffer. Autoflower were created to grow in harsh environments.
Hey @primus. Thanks for the info. I think my wildly fluctuating temps and humidity may have some reason why my plants are still in the flowering stage although they have completed 9 full weeks of flowering. I will keep reading and learning. So many things to do differently when I begin my second grow in the future.
Amen to that. My GG autos are in full flower. Plated June 5th. Temps in the greenhouse have been harsh, over 100F at times, humidity all over the place. They may fall within the proper ratio on the VPD chart for a couple of hours every day. My White widow photos have not been so happy. The temps I am quite sure are interfering with their food intake, probably the same for the GG autos. It has been very easy to burn the leaves. I have been feeding mostly Liquid karma and Liquid Seaweed that are both supposed to help in harsh conditions such as high temps. I have three fans blowing in there 24/7 and the Autos have two to themselves, trying to avoid a recurrence of mold I had with my White Widow autoshttps://ilgmforum.com/t/new-grower-and-second-grow-journal-gorilla-glue-autos/46309/141. I posted some new pictures this morning on my grow journal. link below
Don’t go by hype you read about the 9 week time. Most autos will be ready by week 12. Just give them some TLC. Not too much. There is a good video on YouTube by Bill ward ( not the drummer for black sabbath) he takes you through his last grow of GGAF and a few other auto strains. Shows you how to use training on autos. Like LST, PONY TAILING and a few others. My next grow will be my first AF grow and I will be using his techniques.
i could use all PERSONAL experience information. i got a grow tent kit from htg supply and some auto flower guerilla glue 4 from ILGM. its a must that i prove to my wife that i can be successful on this first grow so please help me or i might not be allowed to pursue my new found passion. any #info, #tips, #tricks, #from seed to weed info would be awesome especially if it can be related directly to my grow equipment and strain. thanks in advance and much respect for you doing what you enjoy
Welcome @rabbitt85 You are definitely in the right place. Some great people here who willingly provide their years of experience so we newbies can learn. I would recommend following a grow journal. I know a popular one to follow from seed is @Hellraiser (Hope you do not mind sharing your grow journal with a new grower.)
I started reading all his posts on his grow journal. Unfortunately for me I had already started and bought some of the wrong stuff. Still will get me a harvest on my first grow which is something! I’m not finished yet, but the plants are looking good. I received much help from many people here.
You can follow the grow journal here:
Get to know people by reading posts. You will find someone who grows what you are with a similar set up who can help. Just use the “@” sign to tag someone.
Good luck. Got to get you on the successful track so that you can continue this amazing hobby of growing your own meds! I had a similar deal with my wife. Looks like I am going to come out on the winning side; hope I didn’t just jinx myself!
Good looking out! SO much I am learning about these Autos! Always grateful for the insights and help.
BTW, when you say “Most autos will be ready by week 12,” is that from breaking soil or from flowering?
I am learning that each strain and each plant is unique and environmental factors play a huge role. That said, I am now into week 10 of flowering and 13 full completed since breaking soil. I will keep nurturing and learning.
Happy growing!
@rabbitt85… welcome to the club brother. There are a ton of videos on YouTube. A good series is by bill ward…also check out The OCG FAM videos. They cover everything. Another good tip is invest in good ph and ppm pens. I’m not a fan of the blurple lights. HLG is what I use. Also instead of starting out with multiple plants just do 1 or 2 so you can get a feel for it. Like how they react to what you feed them or how you train them. Also 1 or 2 plants are easier to treat if you get pest. I dont use chemical fertilizers that most everyone else uses here. I use Nectar For The Gods. And it is completely different. Good luck and feel free to tag me. I should be starting my grow soon. Depending on california and these rolling black outs
