NIPS Outdoor Plot

I also heard that states like California , was spending billions of dollars trying to find Gurellia Grows, It also stopped Mexican Marijuana from coming across the Border, but now there trafficking Cocaine, Meth and Heroin, and Fentanyl, i remember that Mexican Weed I used to get , usually compressed bricks, but it was pretty good weed

That brick weed was pretty common here in Az when I started smoking in the 70s, it was always full of seeds. Then we started getting big Red Buds from up in N California. The guy I slung weed for was named Vietnam Bob. Lived down the street and had a green house attached to his patio where he grew year round. the plants were some kind of sticky purple buds that got you super baked.

Its amazing the stuff he grew with only sunshine and a couple plain old fluorescent lights, and a tiny window swamp cooler. Totally low tech by todays standard. One thing I always remembered he was so proud of his soil. Said he had it flown from Hawaii. (he was a big BSer so never figured out if that was true or not.) But he was the first person who introduced me to composting.

He used to front us QPs for like a hundred bucks. We’d sell a few ounces and smoke the rest. Was a nice little way to make money and get free weed back in high school. Would love to find strains like that again.

I hope you find a good strain of Mexican that you like, and is resilient for your AO. I think @W.B.elpaso found some seeds like that (Mexican airline?). Don’t think he grew any yet though.

I think we have crossbred so many Strains, We may have lost a few original old school strains, I remember that RedHair Sense , and purple hair Sense , And Skunk weed, As good as some of the crossed strains are , There is Something Missing, Mabey because I was younger im not exactly sure

Its hard to say. I’m sure we have some folks here who have kept some of those near original strains going. One of my kids who is in his late 20s would always tell me about this strain or that, and it occurred to me, at that time, I wasn’t smoking, It seemed that much of it was hype based on fancy names and such.

Does it get me high? How long does it last? And now most importantly is it easy to grow in my hot/dry climate? I’m starting to search for an additional strain or two for next year. Train Wreck, (Hows that for a name?) is one I might try. Checks most of the boxes for me.

Trainwreck is on my list to grow next year, I been doing some research on it , legend had it getting it’s name because a train wrecked near a marijuana patch in California and they had to pull all the plant’s up because of all the Law Enforcement showing up, I think it will grow good here because it’s mostly Sativa, I like the piney earth taste it has, along with High Yields

I will be growing some trainwreck next year too. I already got some good seeds. They are really good growers. Mold resistant good in the hot weather and they finish on the early side. I love the stone from it. Piney flavor is nice too.

Ever hear of a Strain called Jellyfish?

I grew train wreck 2 summers ago.
I grew it low by topping it in veg.
Had some nice nuggety buds and out of about 10 different strains it coped the best against bud rot that year.
Was a nice smoke too
Too long ago to remember the details of the smoke too many days and cones gone under the bridge so to speak.
