When spraying anything, you should do it just before sun up or at sun down, unless you have no choice, but you risk burning the leaves. I have spraying a milk mixtures before without issue, as with milk mixes they are recommend to spray with sun up. As for spraying buds, I don’t like to put anything on them, H2O2 at times. As other people will suggest a bud wash at harvest.

I always spray in the morning or evening, that gives it time for the leaves to dry off , I try to not use anything while budding, that seems to be impossible for me, bug’s seem to be thriving during that period, Captain Jack’s seems to be very good never had it damage a plant i don’t see any bug’s after I use it

I did a Bud Wash and looking at the water i was surprised at the trash , crapp and how dirty the water was, it’s a good idea if you have the time, i never did throughout my Stoner years, I’m still alive and Smoking  but because you’re under a shade cloth yours is probably a Hellva lot cleaner than mine

They turn out pretty decent, I have done the bud wash before because of bugs, and there was some garbage, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. So if I have to spray anything thats not OMRI rated during flower, I will wash. I use Regalia and Howler, Venerate, and Grandevo, as prevention during veg. and the first week or so of flower, then H202 mix if needed. I have lots of lady bugs around that usually keep bugs under control. I do sometimes purchase green lacewing larvae.

A couple of years ago I had the invasion of stink bug’s, don’t know the Botanical name! But those are some tough ass bug’s, Captain Jack’s didn’t phase them, so I remembered my Grandmother Garden and how she dusted them with Seven Dust, I really didn’t have a choice I was going to lose my weed, Well it worked and didn’t harm my plant’s, just not something I would use during the vegetation stages because it only kills certain types of insects, gets rid of tomato worm’s too

I know I have had an increase in them dam stink bugs in the last year or so, no issues YET, but will be watching closely, thanks for the heads up.

They seem to come out late in the season here, they will devour any vegetables or garden plants in no time, we have to be on the defensive all the time

Hard to see when I zoom in, but mealy bugs look like white balls, thrips are skinny. What it looks like when I zoom in is a tick, but it’s pretty blurry.

That’s exactly why even after spraying, you have to examine plants i probably missed that one , I do know mealybugs leave white secretions, we fought them in the greenhouse, whiteflies leave black crapp , I’m not sure about thrips but all are capable of destroying plants

But I’m thinking mealybugs move kind of slow, this one moved fast as lightning, that’s alright his day’s are numbered :skull_and_crossbones:
