Yeah, I know and have read of the dangers of producing a foul taste using neem oil too close to harvest, and I worry bout it, of course. Well, I just did a follow up spraying, the second spray, with pure virgin neem oil mixed with dish soap, and I feel I have about three weeks left in the grow period, and I am trying to figure out if I can go further, for it to wear off.
I believe this will be the last time I use neem oil for the flowering. I’ll use dish soap from now on, …if I have to. I mean, I couldn’t stand the thought of spider mites eating up the buds, the large buds, at all.
A neighbor just finally had spider mites, but they used a commercial “plant safe” vegetable style 70% neem oil concoction without any soapy substance, likely same as I used on my plants before it ran out, and it damaged the leaves like it did on my vegging plants, but this pure virgin neem oil doesn’t seem to damage leaves. Likely the damage to their leaves, and to mine previous with that store bought stuff was too strong a mix, like where I went to the maximum, …big mistake(seems like it was for that product, four tablespoons per gallon, max, …too much, where pure virgin neem oil I went two tablespoons per gallon.
I have plants inside the home, very young starts, so far I don’t see any infestation, but I am gonna use that robert bergmann anti bug stuff I bought from here, I like it, wished I had it in more quantity, seems to be a great products, …I smell garlic, ha, and some other things of course. Now, garlic is a supposed good anti bug thing, but getting garlic oil, that is gonna be tough if I ever do it, …maybe I will, when I run out of robert bergmanns, take some garlic and press them, get the liquid mixed up with the oils, strain the liquid, etc…
