Newbie 1st timer Northern Lights Auto

Yes go ahead and give them some veg nutes. as mentioned go half strength.

You might brush the soil away from under the leaves so they are not resting on the soil.
Leaves in the dirt can cause problems.

Great advice on the nutrients. Peeled up within 12 hours. Some brown tips now have shown. Pics following. Raised the lights about 4 inches to right around 27-28 inches. Am I doing anything incorrectly @Covertgrower @kellydans @Not2SureYet @Spiney_norman

Thanks @Covertgrower so you think I’m just being paranoid? That’s good news. Oh and my last post should have said perked up In twelve hours not peeled up! Haha

Just curios. How many watts are you running your lights at? I prefer to leave the lights a little closer and tun the lights down. Saves some electricity. I would be running about 50w per light for those right now at about 24" You are doing good

The brown tips look like a hint of light burn. You raised the light so you should be good.
Like Not2SureYet states, you can lower it, but be sure to dim it.

The lights are about 450w. Wish they had dimmers but the one Spider Farm QB only can be dimmed by removing the driver and adjusting something under there…I know why would they do that?? The other is a Phlizon Cob which has no ability at all to dim…bummer. But I did raise the height so hope that does the trick.

Oh also forgot to mention they have been on a 24hr light cycle sine poking out of the soil. Going to reduce that to 20/4 soon I think.

Reducing the light cycle is good. The plants will benefit from a dark cycle 20/4 is fine. 18/6 is more common.

Yeah I am going to go in steps. 20/4 for a bit then finish it out at the 18/6 cycle for the last 4-5 weeks I think. Thanks as always!

Update. Added some a humidifier to get up into the 60s and a larger fan at ground level. Trimmed a bit of lower branches that had some yellow/brown spots. Trying a very minimal LST. Before and after pics.

Raised lights a bit this morning and did a little fertilizing with one tsp of ILGM growtime watered in at roots. Any thoughts @Covertgrower @kellydans @Not2SureYet @Spiney_norman
