New to this and piecing together a grow tent. Have a 4x4 tent in route as well as a 6 in fan and light suitable for the area of the tent. What other essential pieces of equipment are going to be needed? Thanks in advance.

Welcome @Ahaven! You will also want an exhaust fan with a filter. Possibly another 6" clip fan since ur in a 4x4. A controller or timer to turn things on and off when you want. Thats just covering some of the basics.
What size/brand is your light?
Do you have ph/ppm meters?

Welcome to the forum growmie.
I assume the 6" is your exhaust fan youll be mounting up high to remove used air. Add a small fan to blow air around the plants. And an extra for backup, u might run into climate issues. Some people need to add another for intake in a lower vent. Early on need at least the 6" vent and something blowing around plants. When they sway in the wind they build bigger and stronger.

The light is a vivosun vs4000. (Marketplace find 1/4 of retail.) Will test it out but probably upgrade. And have the ac infinity CLOUDLINE T6 fan with controls and filter.

One very important purchase is a PH and PPM meter like lights it doesn’t pay to cheap out on this purchase get one from Apera or Blue Labs

I purchased a vs4000 ubit ridiculously cheap. But looking at a few other lighting options. But all the data is honestly overwhelming 
. Currently leaning towards the Spider Farmer G5000. But up for any suggestions. Want something for all stages.

Yes. HLG any, as big as possible and remember, search for discount codes.

What meter would you recommend.?
I use the Apera 20 but any one by Apera or Blue lab is going to be good you can get by with a cheap PPM meter
