New member, first grow, need help with timing issue switching to flower

I don’t have the knowledge to answer this one directly, but what I can say is I have felt buds while they are still on the plant before with a very slight grasp. They seemed fine afterwards, but I also didn’t check specifically. I have also mashed the buds on the sides of my tent on accident and they were fine too. Hope others chime in and we can figure it out!

Actually, if they were top colas they tend to mature faster, so it could have in fact been due to age.

Personally I have not experienced this, I will say Cannabis plants are pretty darn tough. They go through a lot of different training and bounce right back. I think your plants will be fine.

Thanks @kellydans @Dankloud I’ve been watching the buds in question and they seem ok. I’ve done a little reading on the subject and it seems pistils can tend to darken from coming in contact with the side of the tent even (?) - I’m just going to have to be a little more careful! :fearful: LOL.

And keep track of time better - these kiddos just started their 6th week since flipping, not the 5th. They should be approaching harvest around the turn of the year. EXCITING!

Sounds good just in time to start the New Year.

If it went brown you broke them to the point of no return only the hairs so it’s fine just those hairs will die hence the browning. Now the stems and such are much more resilient to minor breakage or cuts. You have to be careful with your girls during flower they are at their most sensitive during this phase in comparison to veg. Just handle the buds and stems like you would a baby and you’ll be golden lol.

I should probably treat 'em better, I was a bit rough raising my kids! HA!

Hey everyone! Please educate me this morning. This is my first forum experience as well as first grow - extreme novice. I’d like to post a couple pics of my girls to ask how close they are to harvest. Do I just do that here in this topic or am I supposed to start a New Topic?

And I never know who to “tag” (is that the right term?) with the @ …I don’t want to pester anyone and everyone. Can you tell I’m new to this?

Thanks.

Excellent tag job! Tag whoever you want @ anytime. We are all here to help.
When you are typing your text, look at the top of the box for the little landscape button. Tap it and choose your fi!e/pic to upload. Then watch as that uploads and processes! Very important, don’t hit reply till it has finished. Hope this helps, if not tag me back.

OK, Here goes. I don’t know if I should be putting all the grow data (method, vessels, light system, etc) for this or if I do that for troubleshooting problems so I won’t unless asked.

I think these are the same strain, bought from a dispensary about 1 week apart, although they have consumed food and water at different rates. Only one was labeled - Cherry Tree. I’ve found some strains with Cherry in them, the closest being Cherry Tree Kush. But who knows?

Today is day 53 since flipping to 12/12. Day Temps run 74 to 77 F during day, rh 35 to 45 %. Night temps run 70 to 75 F, rh about the same as day.

Sorry the pics aren’t so great. I’m trying to judge the rate of trichome color change - there were half as many amber the day before. I don’t like a real heavy couch lock, more prefer the energetic high. I’m thinking I have another week maybe? What do y’all think? @StonedCold13 @kellydans @Dankloud @PurpNGold74

Hey nice job posting all the pics :muscle:
I’m with you, I really enjoy a speedier harvest then a couch lock.
Your pretty close to the finish line :checkered_flag:

Thanks. Yeah, I’m getting pretty excited! This feels like quite and accomplishment, I’ve never been able to grow anything. Couldn’t have done it without all the help from everyone here on this forum. It’s great!

Thanks! I’m going to say good morning to them here in another hour and a half, see how many more trichomes are amber. So I’m guessing the rate of trichome decay is different for different strains, huh? So what’s the % of amber I want for the speedier buds? 10%? 20%? (Ha! I’m just full of questions!)

On point this morning, thank ya old sir :muscle:
I think I saved it to where I can find it now and stop bugging ya on the same thing

Ok, cool. I last did the FF feeding scheduled second flower cycle soil flush 4 days ago followed by it’s next week’s nutes as listed (run-off PPM around 800). You think it’s time I should go to water only and skip the nutes when they get thirsty next (probably today for Frac)?

Thanks, that is some great information in that video @StonedCold13 @oldmarine

I think I might forfeit a bit of potency if these gals have a chance to plump up over the next week or two. :+1: I have next week vacation - be too awesome for the timing to work out that well. But patience is a virtue, so they say. (never had much of that!)
