I’ve got three plants that started showing pistils about 20 days ago. I’m wondering when i should expect to see buds starting to form up. I did some LST on the GG and GSC and topped the BB. The GG looks stunted but still has some pistils. Maybe 10% of the pistils on each are turning orange/brown.

Buds are nothing more than a collection of calyxes at the nodes and tips of the plant. The pistils you see are coming out of those calyxes, so they are the buds. They will continue to develop as the flowers mature and ripen. They will continue to pack on weight until about week 7 of flowering.
Typical flowering times are 8 to 11 weeks from the time you start seeing the pistils form on the buds.
Just a quick update. I think I had some more pistils pop up. It’s like the buds opened up more or something. Should I be concerned? As well, the fan leaves have been yellowing/dying but assumed this was okay as the cola leaves at the bud sights were staying a bit darker. This is day 120. Definitely seeing a lot of growth from the previous pictures!.
