New Grower Need Setup Recommendation

This is what I’m using now thanks for your help

I have friends that have those lights and they went back to mh,hps lights because those lights didn’t penetrate the canapoy very well

Oh crap already made the purchase.

How many strip lights did they use? I’m running 15 strip led

Had 8 of the g3s but never got corn cobs like with his 600w mh,hps lights now has 288qbs going with the mh,hps lights

8g3s over how many lettuce?

12 to 15 plants and some times 8 or 10 just depends on what grow was needed

Not enough lights you need one over each if using g3s or like I’m doing run led strip two over each and one 600w down the middle.so 15 strip light led and 4 600w down the middle to cover.19 lights in total but I am going to add another 5 strip light to it.

They way they were advertised at the grow store was too be great lights but one g3 per plant is a complete waste of money when 1 600w mh,hps does not have a problem doing 3 plants and
They don’t even draw 200watts from the wall they are a junk cheap Chinese light and the buds are airy and larfy from those lights not trying to bash them but does not make sense to have one g3 for each plant when they are advertised as replacement with clever marketing

That is 2 600w mh,hps lights did that and that is 6 plants those g3s could not do that with 8 plants and they wer 600w g3s
Now I have added 2 288qbs to my 2 600w mh,hps now and doing a grow right now
And love the results I’m getting

That’s rite.i have always be taught that you double the amount off lights to plants you have.have never had a problem this way.i have 4g3s going down the centre off room and rest strip lights.its all try and error.

I have a mate using these has 100 in in a room covering all the walls and runs 6x600w over top and heswears by it.only 6 pots pulling 20 pound

Ok not trying to sound mean but why would your friend have a 100 of these for 6 plants or even 10 of these for 6 pots if it was 600w from the wall like they claim or not you should be getting light burn on your plants right now and all the extra money spent on a under performance lights
Very good leds are 35 to 40watts a square foot
Mh/hps 50watt square foot
Then you can add 25% on top of your square footage needs.
With that many lights you have should put you at least 700 or better ppf but that is very doubtful the g3s would ever do that
Now with all you spent you could of built a daisy chain of quantum boards with a output of 2.1 ppf or better for probably half the money
But at the end of the day it’s your money and if you’re happy with what you got then rock it.
My lesson was equivalent watts or replacement of what ever lights they claim cannot be achieved when they don’t even draw from the wall a quarter of the claimed wattage of replacement light it can’t be a 1000watt replacement if it draws less than 200watts from the wall. Hope this helps in what i was trying to explain i got burned by this marketing along time ago and it’s a very expensive lesson i learned

@ThcinKC I Don’t know that’s what he does and gets 20 pound out off it.only going on what I have been told.what Eva works man.

Wow
100 of those lights each pulling 100 watts is 10,000 watts which is 83 amps…Hmmm
Then the 6 at 600 watts is 3600 watts at another 30 amps…Hmmm
3.3 lbs per plant…Hmmm

@Skydiver he has 3phase
I’m only running lights over the top.15x80w and 4x600w just enough I think.could be wrong.

I see… must be outside the US or in a commercial building

@Skydiver hes in Australia and is doing all this in his home.not recommended

I did exactly that with a 446 tent and I am having issues now controlling temp. I got the air cooled hood as hellraiser suggested, added a humidifier and I am running the bulb at 400w for now. Any suggestions on cooling the temp? RH 53 and temp 83
