New autoflower grower help!

I will say this and probably get some flack, but science says you don’t need to decarb first if your using a water butter method. The long heating at a rolling water temp over 3 hours should decarb it all, especially if you grind it up first. Any thc-a will also get trapped in the butter. So depending on what you’re using the butter for you don’t need it. However, you do want to watch how many times your decarbed butter is cooked and the temps as well. Many people will add their butter to foods that are then cooked above or at 350 degrees. This will degrade your thc under this secondary heat, further decarbing and degradation go hand in hand. Anything you cook with decarbed cannabutter must be kept under 250 degrees and then just extend your baking time. Thus ensuring you get the max yield out of your trim. Just my humble and truly tested opinion. :cookie: :sunglasses:

I personally only use the oven before the water/butter method if I need to dry the bud out more, but I prefer to let anything I am making into butter sit out and get crispy dry first. So that negates my need for the oven unless I have to cut and make a fast batch of cookies. Lol

I’ve flushed 2 down to 150 TDS !

A question I’ve been curious about is why do I need to flush the medium/dirt down to 150 TDS , why not just cut the plant ? I’ll flush the other 3 still just was curious, probably a stupid question though

You flush so that the plant is forced to use its storage of nutrients, of you don’t those nutrients like nitrogen are left in the green leafy material and lead to a harsher smoke. So flush for cleaner smoke.

You cut it when it’s dry, hang it, take the big fan leafs off toss them, trim the plant while it’s wet and all that trim falls to your collection sheet. This you allow to dry in a cardboard box and it’s your shake. Then you can do what you wish how you wish. Lots of guides onlime.
I think @TokerGuy makes a good point but I use my butter on toast and Avacado or to bake so I de carb it so it’s always good to go even if the cookies are a bit weaker in theory they still made with only half the butter are so strong I can only eat a half max

Right now mine is hanging in an extra bathroom which currently is 71 f and 52 humidity. I took off the big leaves. Now I need to let it dry 3 to 7 days then snap the buds and they are ready to smoke?

Where is this butter and water coming in lol I just need a joint or gummy after all this work lolol ?

This is before you took those leafs off eh?. Cuz now that it’s hanging like that you should rip the big leafs off, trim it whole it’s wet and dry it till the small branches snap and don’t bend.

Collect that trim dry it and that is what you use for all the things other than smoking

Yea unfortunately I forgot to trim the rest away when it was wet so I think I’ll just end up with buds , I can always use the leaves on the next batch.

Should I go ahead at this point and remove all those leaves now anyway? Even if it’s been hanging for a day ?

Try to get some trimming scissors. When it’s upside down like that, look at the fan leaves you have and you can see their attachment points to the cola. Cut it at the base or simply grab the leaf where the pedals intersect and pull upward on the leaf and it will pop off. I prefer to cut, if it’s not dry sometimes the leaf will not detach right and will cause a tissue run on the cola. This isn’t an issue after you cut it, but def during training. I’m just picky how I trim since I’m old now and need that smooth ish… lol. Happy smoking!

Yeah get some trimmers and cut em off now.

You could dry trim super easy in a 5 gallon pale when it’s dry but it has a higher chance to be like hay.

Yeah, that hay crap smells like a hermie, even when it isn’t. And the smoke is harsh af…

Smoke hasn’t been harsh to be honest most of the time. Just shit smell, bad or no cure

These guys are on it!

But on the flushing… as @Nicky said. U flush to force her to eat up excess nutes. Especially Nitrogen. It really harshes the smoke. U want to flush then give it 3-5 days to senesce herself to near death.

And on the trim. I prefer as they recommended, a wet trim. Pulling all fans first or second day (before they wither and dry) is just so much easier. Goes for sugar leaves as well. I never save fans… not worth the hassle. But all sugar leaf trim gets saved

Well there is Thc in those bubbles for sure, but also other cannabinoids and terpenes. Looks real nice!

Id like to add that even after the dope has been hanging like a skinned deer for a week, it likely will still have some of that hay like chlorophyll taste for quite some time yet. While you can certainly smoke it and get really stoned, the magic will happen over the next couple of months. Once your dope is dry to the stem crack bit still semi spongy, it should be mason jarred and burped every day for 15 minutes or so for the next 2 weeks, then every second day for 2 weeks then every 3rd day etc. I mess with that ratio somewhat by smell, taste and feel, bit you get the gist of it. A few things will happen, the chlorophyll will degrade, the terpenes will be enhanced, the moisture from the stems will balance out with the bud material. In other words your smoke will be dramatically improved.

i see a couple people mention to shane 420 to start his own thread,
i thought i was supposed to browse topics and find ones similar to the issues i need guidance on and post on those existing topics instead of creating new ones, or am i confused still is a thread and a topic the same thing?
LMAO i am so confused right now… how many people remember back in the day that when you posted something that meant using a thumb tack on a cork board in a common area, yes i am that old we had party lines instead of each house with its own phone number and all phones had to plug into the wall and internet did not exist and every house hold had a set of encyclopedias

Yeah its painful as shit (recovery) but I am waking up with no pain in my side for the last 3 days. I’m happy with that not so much with the scars left behind but all in all everything is going pretty good !
