I am going to contradict this advice… that 800- 1000 watt may have been true with gas lamps like high pressure sodium and metal halide, but a high quality led can easily service a 4x4 tent, and much better in my opinion, in the 600 watt range. The difference in the power useage is primarily in heat. In addition to the that power saving you dontbhave to pay as much for heat extraction. The downside is the upfront cost of a high end led fixture.
However, you buyer will NOT find a light such as this on Amazon. Consult @dbrn32 or look at buying from a company like Fluence if you can afford it. Making is way cheaper.

Apologies @Cannabian, you are correct, that was copied from Google. I realised the error I had made after reading your comment. Thank you for pointing it out, I do not like giving incorrect information.
I am actually flowering currently in a 4 x 4 section, with 480w of LED lighting.

@naeomii, sincere apologies for sharing incorrect information, that chart is for MH and HPS.
This is the chart I was looking for on LED lighting.

Yep no problem! No harm no foul! Its too hard to compare some things these days because advancements in technologies are quite fast! To be fair, gas lamps are cheaper up front and have been the industry standard for many years. Some growers still prefer them. However, recently the tide is changing because LED tech has advanced significantly. Then the additional savings of fewer bulb replacements, lower heat extraction costs, safer lighting with respect to possible burns with accidental bulb contact! Non hooded bulbs can explode with contact with water! Exploded bulbs get glass and potentially toxic material on plants! Elevated risk of a house fire! Thats a big one for me as I have kids to think of. Im sure I can find more reasons as to why I personally think LED are superior not the least of which is killer bud!
If cost is a big factor and you are on the fence about buying a great led fixture I really think @dbrn32 is the guy to talk too. If I had to do it all again Id definitely build it! Have fun! That was mainly for the OP

I am not capable of making one haha thats just not my fortay. So can you advise which led light I should get. I am willing to spend more but prefer not break the bank. but yes I just need a suggestion of which light to get because Amazon is overwhelming and the wording I think is tricky specially since I don’t understand wattage and lumens and all that haha

Did you find a light for your 4x4?
Mars Hydro makes a quality led that’s quality for the price. Also, the specs are true to what the manufacturer stamps on the box.

Hey naeomii,

If you’re still on this forum, I’d love to hear how you ended up?

I’m looking at lighting atm and considering the Mars Hydro TS3000 you linked above.

What’d you end up with? Happy with how it’s going?

I have not started yet will be soon. I was scared of the lighting and still don’t really know which to choose. :frowning:
