@Growmoredank im fine now. 300% better than the last 4 days… had 2 teeth break right at the gum and abcesses formed under each one. It wasnt fun… only things that helped was ibuprofen and dab rips :rofl: last time i had my mouth cut on was over 25 years ago when i had my wisdom teeth cut out. Just got feeling back in my jaw and the procedure was 5 hours ago.:rofl:

@ChittyChittyBangin Tooth pain is intense to say the least…

At 25 I had an upper right tooth abscess… Face was all swollen… Was in “pacing around” pain.

Got to the dentist, he left me sucking laughing gas for a very long time… When he pulled the tooth… All the swelling released through the hole… Tasted terrible… Felt sooooo relieving.

Still sucked something fierce! I feel for you man!

Correct me if I’m wrong. I could have sworn I just read someplace that this soil is for organic feed only. (No bottled synthetics) Is this correct or incorrect?

I am finding it to be correct. Its a super soil and is best left for just organic fertilizers. My past 2 grows with Coast of Maine Stonington Blend have hit issues in flowering with Jacks 321. PH problems to be exact. I am switching to a soil that takes synthetic nutrients better. Stonington Blend is best left for organic style growing. Organic fertilizers only for Stonington Blend. Coast of Maine has they’re own buds and bloom food and lobster meal to top dress with. It is what its designed for. I was trying to put a round peg in a square hole with using Jacks 321 into the super soil Stonington Blend. Not good… it took me a couple tries but i am done with it and i think Bar Harbor is the best for me. My outdoors vegetables garden is growing fine with Jacks 321 and regular potting soil

I have heard of people having issues with mixing them. I used to use Recipe 420 organic soil and Fox Farms nutes… I always ended up chasing deficiencies, lock-outs, etc. Once I stopped using the synthetic ferts, things mellowed out 99%

I am doing the opposite and switching mediums instead of fertilizers. Due to tha fact that i just bought a whole bunch of Jacks 321. But thats what i am going through right now, i am pretty sure its some pH issue and an overdose of flower nutrients mixed with everything else that can spoil the soil for tak8ng in synthetic nutrients

A properly mixed soil, like Stonington blend, contains a mixture of quick, moderate, and slow release forms of amendments (anions & cations in the soil). Using salts regularly will cause lockouts due to excess nutrients.

Thanks for the scientific explanation. This is what i can grasp easier for some reason because it makes clear sense.

I find that it tanks the pH way up to 7.5 by the 5th week of flowering.

Exactly, a properly mixed soil. This would eliminate having to feed with synthetic nutrients every time i water it. Unless you’ve done this a million times and know how to get away with it but i doubt thats even a good idea. I am sure my outdoor veggarden is doing so well with Jacks 321 is because of the fact i am growing in my own home brewed soils. Where theres alot of deficiencies the Jacks 321 has room to move and work its majick.
Thank you for clearing this up for me.

They make a feeding schedule that uses the Stonington food. Maybe read over their info about how to properly go about feeding it organically. You might give that a whirl outside next season; just to get your feet wet

If you weren’t using salt, it would be easier to help with your situation. For a high pH like 7.5, organically, you’d give it something like soy bean meal (acidic) to lower the pH naturally with waterings.

If i had any of the Stonington blend left but its all used up. I am going to get a whole different soil. Bar Harbor and give that a whirl… i will document it here also.
Jacks says feed everytime you water but if the soil is overcharged to begin with, that and too much nutrients and i got what i got. Burnt up leaves and hungry buds.

I’ve only ever done 2 cannabis grows with salts in my life. That’s all it took for me to know, that wasn’t for me. The Bar Harbor will treat you much better with the Jacks. I’ve used it for ornamentals before. Granted, I only advise on what I have used or know, and I’ve never used it with salts. That said, reading the ingredients, it’s their version of FFOF, and it will work much better for your needs.
