Need help with humidity!

Sounds like a fair a honest deal plus they can learn from you !
Yeah no reason why you couldnt leave the tarps up and put the plastic behind it wont hurt anything

That’s what I thought too. Plus I told them when I get stocked up after a couple auto harvest and my first big harvest then I’m okay with them running a crop of their own if they buy their own nutrients and pay that extra part of the utilities. Which gives them a great opportunity that I would have died for at their age of 18.

Cool. I wasn’t sure if a double enclosure would raise the temp too high or anything.

My only concern would be making sure the AC/Dehumidifier will reach. I’d have to start the panda enclosure right on top of the far side of the grow room to make sure I can squeeze the exhaust duct through an opening out the side and out the window.

Yeah its a little give and take when in a space Iike yours limited space and all you can vent everything back into your basement if you wanted and just use carbon filters to control smell
Doing that might help dry the air out in the rest of the basement with out knowing the house and all im just throwing out suggestions that you can try

No I appreciate it. That’s why I’m here after all. All you can do without actually experiencing the house and grow room is make suggestions.

Just gotta troubleshoot your issue until you figure it out. But most importantly don’t forget why it happened and how to fix it. At least that’s what I’ve found to be the most important thing to becoming an experienced/wise grower over the years.

So if I understand correctly it isn’t a bad thing to vent it back into the basement?
Just wondering in case I need to possibly cool the room down in the winter time for some reason. I doubt it but I’d rather be safe than sorry ya know?

Yeah its not a issue to vent back into the basement once the room is sealed and air is stabilized you should be able to control temps easier , you can have a fresh air option is you wanted that is not a bad thing
In my basement i had a y connector on intake air that would allow me to pull from outside when weather and temps permitted and when it was not favorable i pulled from
My basement and recycled my air but haveing some fresh air is important if the basement doesnt get any naturally most older homes are not sealed like the brand new ones that need fresh air make up on the hvac systems
Is the basement conditioned ? Heat and or air since you have someone living there i figured maybe or is it just their half
I would think you’d need to heat in winter if anything i assume your in a Northern Climate
Ok i gotta run ill check back with ya later have a good one

It kind of has heat. When we got the HVAC redone they made it to where some hot air gets pumped into the basement because I was staying down here as a teen.
It does not have air conditioning though. So fresh air is most likely the option I will choose unless it gets too cold for them then I’ll pop the window back in and take my makeshift wall with ventilation hole out.

The basement does have an old timer wood burner down here though which could help maintain heat in the winter. Thankfully ohios winters haven’t been too bad lately to where I am hoping I don’t have to worry too much besides lifting the pots off the floor to prevent root shock.

I moved into my childhood home and it was basically neglected severely. So now my spouse and I are fixing it up and just moved my brother up from Texas to get out of a pretty shitty situation that I could relate to.
So it has a long way to go before the house is up to my standards but it’s livable and not rundown anymore. 1 step/project at a time.

Not sure if it is the two dehumidifiers going with the two oscillating fans overtime just finally stabilizing it or if it’s just playing off the weather but my humidity has been stable between 60-64% with highs of 68% and lows of 58% (that I’ve noticed)

I appreciate everyone’s advice! It has all been applied and has worked!
Thank you!

Update!!
Got a new hydrogemer and it seems to be reading and responding in real time. A lot more accurate too.

Things seem to be stabilizing or near it! Thanks everyone for all of the help!

@TrichromeTay can not speak for AC inline but do own 2 SF inline they been damn good so far been using both since last Dec, Quite and the only thing I hear is a little vibration noise because they mounted on a wall down stairs, sure a couple rubber gromets would fix that. Just my experience with SF has been great and no issues with 2 tents.

I planned on getting an inline. I was wanting to go SF But I wasn’t sure. Now I am. Thank you for letting me know that it works well. What size grow room/tent do you have vs inline?

1- 2x4 1-3x3 and am using 4" will have a 4x4 tent (only) delivered tomorrow, so I can demote the 2x2 to a drying space may have to up to a 6" we shall see, FYI the SF lights are great also nary a problem.

I use to see an 8in inline from SF but before I could buy it it just disappeared like it’s apart of the Mandela effect or something. Lol. Can’t find it at all.

Right on man! I hope everything goes well with your grows! Definitely keep me posted on your new tent and how it does for you!

Hey everyone, just your friendly postaholic over here.

So I got a 5x10 grow tent, 8" inline fan, and 2 oscillating fans from AC Infinity. I also have another oscillating below my table to keep the airflow from becoming too stagnant.

My problem is during flowering you want to start at 60% and slowly drop it.
I’m still getting readings of 66%-80%
66% during the day and 80% during nighttime hours though.

I also have my makeshift tarp tent around it with a dehumidifier going in the tarp tent to give it dehumidified air to take in.

Is there ANYTHING else I can do to lower it? I’m just sprayed down 3 or 4 plants with mildew at the base of the plant. I REALLY don’t wanna get this far and have mold destroy my crop.

Thanks a million as always!

(No pics of green mildew? Because I acted immediately with bergmans mold eliminator)

Not that know, for my drying tent Was humid as hell took a floor model dehum and backed it up as close as I could to one of bottom vents, took a box just bigger than dehum cut bottom out, cut out front to size of dehum so front is not covered at all and cut a square out the that matches vent, brought it down from 67 to 61 rh , can pull box up off dehum to empty , pics tomorrow if needed.

Most definitely. I appreciate the advice! The only other thing I could think of is to actually place the dehumidifier in the tent but I’m afraid it will do too much and bring it down to almost nothing.

Heat from a bigger one would cook anything in the tent in my mind they crank some heat.

That’s very true. Didn’t think about that honestly. That’s why I like to run things by you guys before jumping the gun. Lol
