Need advice for 1st grow harvest rinsing buds

Jabba here after harvesting my first two early flowered plants (one is a Northern Lights Auto, the other an early flowering Master Kush Fem) from which we removed colas with bud rot, hung them up in our window blackened guest room tonight (55% humidity, 72 degrees w AC). Now we are considering rinsing the two plants with hydrogen peroxide in water tomorrow to clean them further. Have any of you growers rinsed your buds before drying them? How did that work?

Here’s the link to the bud rinsing process we plan to use:

We still have 3 large Master Kush in flower that we expect to last 5 to 7 more weeks. They are robust and growing upwards of 6 ft. in our now fan ventilated greenhouse on our deck. No sign of bud rot or insect infestation with them at this time.

Your advice is appreciated. May your harvest be blessed.

I’ve used bud washes on all my outdoor grows. They come out just fine. It’s impressive how much rinses off.

That method should work just fine for you.

Thanks for the reality check, 'stairs :+1:

We rinsed the buds today and have them drying out in the sun for the afternoon, then we will put them back in the drying room later early evening to continue the drying process.

Our drying room is our guest bedroom. Will the scent of the drying plants gradually be dispersed after the drying process by opening the windows and bringing in outside air? I find the mellow earthy-citrus scent of the drying Master Kush to be lovely, but my wife, who has been my awesome growing partner in this first time endeavor, is concerned that the room will now smell like a giant Kush bud forever. I have found that the smell of weed smoke can generally disperse if I air out a room and open the windows for a time, and I’m assuming the leftover odor of drying plants could be handled in the same way, Personally, I wouldn’t mind sleeping inside a giant Kush bud :yum:, but I understand her concern.
Thanks, and good growing to all :v:

I do bud washes on all outdoor plants. I wash as soon as chop them, let them drip dry outside for an hour or two, then to the drying room until time to trim and cure.

Did our rinse of the two early flowering flowering plants that had some bud rot removed. Used hydrogen peroxide in water, rinsed after, buds were clean and trichomes still present. Sun dried then back to the drying room with controlled temp and humidity.

Appreciated the support from @Borderryan22 and @Underthestairs that encouraged us to push through with the rinsing.

Love the support we can get here on the forum.
Thanks and all the best :+1: :evergreen_tree:

The smell will be gone quickly once you’ve gotten everything jarred up. Or Grove bagged.

I concur with what others have said. I also used the 3 bucket method for last year’s outdoor grow (my first). Lots of cypress debris rinsed off of mine. Would have been a harsh smoke if left on. I found that by cutting the branches near a junction it created a hook to hang on the clothes line for initial drying and for a finishing dry on hangers in humidity controlled cabinet.

Thanks, Mountainfreak. We have washed our two early flowering plants and they have dried well and have tasty buds. Their stems have snapped after a week of drying and we are bottling most of them up this evening and enjoying the excellent Kush and Northern Lights buds.

All the best to you.

First time using the peroxide/water rinse tonight. Looks clean but almost too clean to me. I flushed them also. It will be a week or so before I start trimming. I’ll will let you know how it worked for me. First time grower although I’ve been a ‘helper’ lol for many years.
