Need a complete list for indoor coco grow

Take a look when you have time. Promix is definitely a favorite among members here. It’s not the same as growing in coco, but overall experience is probably closer to coco than growing in garden soil.

One thing you will want to do is inspect bags closely. I would avoid anything that says it has time release nutrients or will feed for extended periods of time. Those are a little more difficult for beginners to work with.

I prefer Promix over coco but it’s kind of much of a muchness lol. They are both great soilless media and in my case I like it as it retains a bit less water which makes the plant easier to haul around. Coco with about 10% additional perlite is about right.

I really want to try a dwc setup but I’m super nervous about that and with such a small space I dont know how I would fit everything in the closet. So I figured the coco or promix will help teach me something about soil less growing, and I can go from there.

There are some really good dwc growers here. Unfortunately I’m not one of them lol. Maintaining water temps has always been a deterrent for me, but others seem to do pretty good with minimalist approach. I think if you feel you can do reasonable job there the rest seems pretty simple. @Myfriendis410 @Bogleg @TDubWilly all have some kick ass dwc grows under their belts. I’m sure if you check out any of their dwc journals they are full of useful tips. And any of them would likely give you a hand if you needed.

Ok for sure, I guess the only thing that has pushed me away from it is we have power outages kind of frequently and I really dont want to waste a bunch of money and not be able to do it.

We still talking about a 2x4x5 space here?

Those are “1000w” blurples? So maybe they can flower a 2x2 space just fine? My concern with those lights (I didn’t read the entire thread, so I apologize if this is a duplicate of someone else’s response) would be heat management - there isn’t any real headroom in the closet. You’d need iron clad exhaust and intake systems to ensure heat isn’t a major issue.

Because of the height/heat issues I actually think growing in coco is probably the right choice. I would try to keep it so you have as little as possible in the actual grow space - especially electronics that create more heat.

Yes we are. Surprisingly I keep my temperature at 77f with lights on 20 hours and 72f with lights off. I know I will probably need some supplemental lights and will have to get a better exhaust setup. Right now I have a light blocking air vent that is 16"x12" in the bottom of the door to bring in cool air and a 9 inch fan in the top vent for exhaust.

@dbrn32 I got my Coco Loco at F & F very good prices on Fox Farm brands.

It’s a commercial cultivar of Game Changer: a 60/40 sativa dominant hybrid female plant. Not feminized.

I have been meaning to ask if it’s better to use regular seeds vs feminized or autos.

For your first grows I’d recommend feminized photo period plants. You can control their height and get decent results. I’ve done single plants that produced 3/4 pound each.

Ok so I’m not trying to endorse or advertise for anyone, but here are the seeds I will be ordering on the 5th of November, I will only be growing 2 at a time due to space limitations (vegging in 2x4 closet and flowering in a 4x4 tent.) I wont be starting the grow until the end of the year (still finishing up my first grow ever) but any suggestions on what I should start first.

@Myfriendis410 so when growing a photo I can put her into flower by going to 12-12 to control her size

Yes but she won’t respond unless sexually mature.

Ah good to know. Thank you I haven’t grown a photo yet started off with Autos almost to harvest.

Do you do any cloning?

Sure; I don’t do a perpetual grow or anything but have run a number of clones out over the years. Monster cropped clones are amazing.

Any experience with this stuff? A friend gave it to me.

I think I will try my hand at it with my next grow in the coco.
