My first real grow & Can I save save un used coco coir

Thanks. When I mixed the nutes today it was at 799 and when I checked the run off it was 655. Do you know if that would be considered good or bad. I am trying to learn how to really under stand that part. I have not read much that would help me there.

That’s good! If ppm is higher coming out than going in, you’re plants not uptaking the nutes. If ppm coming out is lower than going in, it let’s you know they are using the nutrients in the medium.

Thanks. I couldn’t find any thing to just say it nice and simple like that.

Well, week 3 is done. The plants are coming along great. I just tied them down this morning. The one in the little cup is the AK-47. I think I will wait till it is 10 days old like the others were before moving it to 1 gal pots. This is just one plant. All 3 look pretty much the same.

I have 2 plants that have really stretched compared to the third. Should I top these here at the line or leave them alone. I have topped them a couple times and the plants have not had an issue with it. The third is a nice little bush. I found using 23w vs 42w kept them short and super full. The 2 like this one had 42w and grew tall fast. I have also added a 450w led in each box for now. I will see how things play out after I get these done. I only want to do 2 at a time on the next run. I am learning tons with these here.
Thanks

I would just tie her down some using LST to even out the canopy.

Thanks @MattyBear , I thought of that but those 2 tall branches are thick and bend similar to wood. lol I will give it a try though.I am going to move these into a 3 gal pot after they finish this week. They just finished week 4. That will give them time to settle in. I am only going to grow these to about 18" before flowering I hope. The little AK is 2 weeks behind. I will change all to flower once it is a foot tall. These are great plants to learn on. They are super forgiving. Next grow I am only going to do 2 plants with feminized seeds. I have 5 different kinds to do, I guess I got a little to excited. I am surprised how much I really like growing though. It is going to be a great hobby.

It is an addicting hobby for sure! If you tie those and stretch them out a few inches at a time you should be good. Just don’t go too fast or pull too hard and you will be fine.

@MattyBear I get her tied down, thanks. They were easy to bend. The first “do wrong” plant I did had a tiny stem. These are all ready pretty thick. That intimidated me. I am currently doing battle with the number 3 plant. I think I may need to change one thing at a time. Ever since I changed to the LED lights. I have had issues with the top leaves drooping. I raised the light but also flushed the plant and used just water. it got better over night. I lowered the light a little again but also watered with 1/4 strength nutes. I am back to the leaves starting to droop. I raised the light back up. if it is the same tomorrow. I will water with just ph water and full cal-mag for just that plant. The other 3 are doing great. It sucks to have problems, but i look at it as, I get to learn more sooner. I thought it might be over watered even though I give all 4 the same amount. I get the new led light tuesday. I think I will put 2 plants in each box then. If I still have issues. I will keep the problem plant with the smallest to work things out. let the other 22 grow as they want. I use coco coir and all I read is to water every day. I am wondering if no 3 may need every other day for a bit? I have another month to get it figured out before switching to flower. Thanks for all the help.

I’d set your lights and leave them for a few days to let the plants adjust. Then drop and inch or 2 at a time, if needed. All plants are different so some might need more water than others. I’m running 3 plants in coco right now and when they are in veg or early flower, you can sometimes get away with skipping a day. Sometimes I’ll skip a day here and there in flower just to stress her a little bit.

Thanks. I just re set them to 23" where I first started. Do you have a grow journal on here.

Well, today was a good day. I decided to move the bigger plants to 3 gallon pots. From the looks of it. It may have been a good call. I was going to wait 2 more weeks since they have only been in the one gallon pots for a couple weeks. Some thing tells me I may be sorry i didn’t go to a 5 gallon pot. I plan to do the change to dark once these are 8 weeks old. I am starting a Blue Dream auto to go with the AK. It will be about 3 weeks behind so I figure I can put both into flower at the same time. I get the new LED light for the left box tomorrow. I Think I will have 1 to many plants if all 3 of the GS plants turn out to be female. I don’t think more than 2 will fit comfortably together. It is crowded with all 4 in one box and only 2 are in 3 gallon pots. I will do the other when I get the other light tomorrow. Anyways. here is what the #1 plant looked like. my camera battery died before I could get the other plant. It looked just like this one though.

@MattyBear, @Dieselgrower I did no. 2 plant today. It looked just as good. I now have a bigger problem. I am going to try and tag @Countryboyjvd1971 too. I saw he gave similar advise as to what I need.
Night time temps here are dropping way below normal. High 20s to low 30s. My place was 37 in here this morning. I Have a 450w led light in my grow box. I put 4 42w cfl’s in there to help keep it warmer. it only dropped to 54 in the box with the lights. My on off light schedule is off at 6pm on at 11pm. Is it possible to move my schedule around to some thing like on at 9pm and off at 3pm. The temps start dropping pretty good at about 6pm right now. I can add more cfl lights if needed. They do make a reasonable difference.
Thanks guys

Yeah you can definitely switch the light cycle. I’m growing in my garage and it has been really cold the past week and my temps have gotten down to 57 degrees a lights out in the tent. I use a space heater in the garage to help keep temps up.
