My first outdoor auto grow

Both plants are doing well. Into full flower now bids are getting bigger. They still have a month or so to go so hoping they put on some serious weight, colas the size of my forearm, I’m hoping anyway👍
I’ll have to update my journal in the next few days as soon as I can get some good pics of the plants.

@gldeaton50 don’t hesitate to ask any questions you have. I’d be happy to help out or st least get the attention of someone who can.
I typically grow indoors during the winter months these 2 plants are my first go at outdoor growing and also first time with autos. So far so good.

@Countryboyjvd1971… I’m in a little village out in the country called Holland Patent. Really is beautiful & peaceful out here, hope it never changes. We are one hour from Syracuse in upstate NY. One of my sister’s lived in White Plains for awhile, then said to hell with it and moved to Orlando :joy:…you’re closer to New York City right?

Update 9 weeks since they popped out of the soil.
(1 Blueberry auto / 1 Northern Lights auto both ILGM)

Blueberry is starting to put on some weight. The northern lights is also starting to bulk up a bit. Seems the northern lights is behind the blueberry as far as trichom production and development.
Been feeding Verm Bloom by Vermicrop Organics along with cal mag and photosynthesis plus.
Northern lights seems to be drinking a lot more than the blueberry. Both are healthy and looking better everyday.

This pic just goes to show how resilient cannabis can be. I accidentally broke this chute when I was trying to position it outwards away from the main stem. It was barley being held on by a thin piece of stem. I taped it up and a few weeks later it’s all better with a nice little bud forming.
The break was all the way through the stem it pretty much snapped completely off.

Beautiful Plants I really like the color of that blueberry hope it smokes as good as it looks. I can only hope that my 10 day old will do as well. That’s incredible about the broken stem (good username)they really are tough weed. From the size of the bud right now it looks like your going to have a good crop.

Very nicely Done! @Jmesser80 good looking bunch. That NL looks like it’s gonna be a good producer. Is that an Auto?

@bob31 you are correct, the northern lights is also an auto. I had fimmed them both at the same time, the northern lights had a big growth spurt the first week it was outside. Was actualy hoping it was going to stay shorter so it would be easier to hide but I can’t complain.

@Countryboyjvd1971… hey, thanks a lot!! I’m hoping to get to harvest in a few weeks with this problem resolved. I’m going to germinate autos next week as soon as I find a spot for them. If some plants aren’t ready for harvest at the same time, I don’t know where I’ll hang & dry them. Was hoping for one tent to be available, but I’ll work it out somehow. One amnesia haze plant has pistils turning little golder now, maybe this one will be ready sooner. It’s my first harvest so I really don’t know exactly what I’m doing, lol :joy:… at this point, anything anyone can offer regarding harvest will be greatly appreciated. You aren’t far from me that’s for sure… if you ever make it upstate you’re more than welcome to look me up!!

Sounds great @bonnie1 and I definitely will should I be in the area
Same goes for you if you come down State a bit lol
If you can find dark spot in your basement maybe the boiler room or something that would work just put a fan in the room to keep air moving don’t blow directly at the buds point it at the wall or something
And hang them till stems snap not bend
About a week or two
Try to keep drying room around -55 percent humidity
Any other question let me know
I use wire coat hanger and black binder clips to hold stems in place I also have a drying rack I’ll use in conjunction with th hangers I’ll hang mine for about a week or so and then trim them and place on rack for a few more day then placebin jars
You don’t need rack tho it’s just something I do
You can also wet trim your buds

@bonnie1 do you have a jewlers loop or a magnifying glass?
The best way to tell if they are ready to harvest is by checking the trichomes. Depending on how the trichomes look and the type of buzz you are looking for is when you will want to harvest.
Here is a chart showing the different trichome colors and the type of buzz you will achieve if harvested during those times.

@Countryboyjvd1971… I’ll get a wooden clothes rack, I have a steel one already. I can use plastic hangars with plastic clothes pins. Maybe that’ll work. I already have this stuff. I have a dehumidifier to keep humidity down cause it’s very humid here all the time and need it all times. When I cut the plant from bottom, I remove all the fan leaves right? I read about it but saw some people hanging the whole plant… or so it looked like just little confused till I experience it I guess. I’ll work it out! Haven’t been down that way for long time but if I do… I’ll definitely stop in for a place to sleep, great weed and delicious :yum:meal, :joy::joy::joy::joy:Lmao, I’m just kidding, thanks countryboy :grimacing::leaves:

@Jmesser80… yes, I have magnifying glass but can’t seem to find it since Friday when company came, had to put things away, I’m hunting for it now. Two girls in the big tent, amnesia haze and chocolade are getting gold pistils and a whitish sheen on the little leaves and I need to see those trichomes. I like all strengths of weed. So I want energetic, but first I want some strong ass weed… I have too much energy and have trouble sleeping, due to prior thyroid problem, but suppose to be ok now…but I always feel revved up. I’m retired so in the mornings now, I like my coffee and strong ass weed, lol :joy: seems to balance me right out!!! Thanks for that chart, I’ve been going to Robert’s sites each time to look at those pics. Have to take company to airport and when I get back spending time in tent to check it out, thanks, I’ll txt later with update…thanks guys! @Countryboyjvd1971

I don’t know what wet trim your buds is…:joy:

@bonnie1 that’s when you trim all the leaves off before you hang it to dry some prefer doing that way I like to hang mine with all the leaves and trim when dry :+1:

@bonnie1 wet trimming is when you trim off the leafs before you have it up. Dry trim would be hanging the entire plant or each individual branch with all the leafs on it then once it is dry you trim off the leafs.

Wet trimming tends to be easier as the leafs are still sticking out so they are more easily accessible to trim.
With dry trimming when the leafs dry they curl into the bud so you have to pry them away from the buds before you trim them.
I usualy wet trim but I actualy tried half and half my last harvest. I personally like to wet trim because it is easier but there is no wrong way to do it.
I would definitely get a good pair of scissors and maybe some denatured alcohol to clean the scissors off from time to time as they get real sticky.

@Countryboyjvd1971 @Jmesser80… I’ll probably wet trim. I heard that way first and don’t want to pry leaves out of buds, and sounds easiest. I found jewelers loupe… went and checked trichomes, think I see better with magnifying glass. Anyway, they look white and some gold in buds on chocolade and amnesia haze but not big bud. These are two older girls… how long before trichomes are amber, another week? I’m getting excited now. I fimmed choc and she has 4 colas as well!!! Can’t wait for my weed… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue::yum:
