What are the preferred ties for tying down your plants? Pipe cleaners,zip ties,ect.

When I saw my BB had popped I thought I saw something fly or land in the soil and tried to grab it, by I guess reflex, glad I didnt hurt anything.
With that said before I bought my soil Happy Frog and FFOF I read were some had bugs. I mixed my soil in my shop and let it set for a couple days before I filled my pots and checked it never saw anything still have a 5 gal bucket out there and checked it tonight and nothin.
But I have somethin.
I put a sticky trap up in between my pots and caught this lil prick.
I put diatomaceous earth in when I mixed soil and on top when I filled my pots. I couldnt get sand when I ordered my soil but might be able to get some delivered from lumber yard I deal with.
I also bought Captain Jacks and HB+SC+SF - Triple Blend Beneficial Nematodes I wanted to be prepared.
Should I spray my soil with Captain ? Should I use the Nematodes? I want to Nip this quick,I dont like bugs in general ,lol and dont want to upset my Ladies growing.

For tie downs you want stretchy garden tape or something that will let the plant grow. Zip ties might cut off flow to a branch or stem. Think about a tree growing around something over time. You dont want that when it needs to support those big buds in your future. I am a rookie on my first grow so my info might suck but this is what I’ve read so far.

One bug doesn’t really call for drastic measures… lol specially with DE and tape already down. You seem to be on it though so keep up the good work. Pipe cleaners work great to tie down branches to sides of containers.

Ya I was curios as people use different things. I took caution tape and cut in thin strips for when I start tying… Ive got rolls, lol

I use soft tie. It’s perfect for tying back plants. Fairly cheap. You can get on Amazon and hydro stores. I’ve seen it at Lowe’s also.

Well I had 2 of 2 Blueberry seeds pop and take to the soil and I had 1 of 3 Gorilla Glue pop and take to the soil 2 popped when germinated but never took.
I have sticky strips up, got diatomaceous earth down, sand in pots as I have had fungus flies and still thinking of unleashing the beneficial nematodes.
My G6 is looking good and 20" thursday will be 7 wks I think Im going to flower cycle. I have started training also.
I know the autos are newborns but it sounds like they should do fine in flower cycle… ??..

Looking good, autos will be fine in flower cycle as well. Have a look for insectivores native to your area and see if any are suitable. Do your research though. I keep a 4 gal pot in my tent all the time now and it’s full of centipedes. Nothing else in there just the roots of a previous grow and these guys. I water it the same as the rest of my plants and they keep my tent bug free. These guys eradicated 5 plants worth of spider mites that I had given up on. Plants were a few weeks from flower, webs everywhere and nothing was working. Neem oil, soap, peppermint oil nothing worked. They kept coming back. So I resigned myself to bud wash and bleaching my tent when I had finished trimming. Did the bud wash and found nothing. While clearing out the old pots I found these guys. They must’ve landed there by accident as I was moving from greenhouse to tent at the time and came in with the mites in the soil. Won’t be be without them now. I look after them the same as my plants. I even have bit of damp matting for shelter for them and they eat any bug that lands near them

Today my G6 starts her 4th week of flower.
2 BBA the bigger ones, 1 GGA are at 4wks.

I have tried all week to get pics before lights come on… last night as soon as I stepped in they popped on lol
Tonight I got 1 so I have big hopes for tomorrow lol
I started the G6 with a 400w MH then went to a Kind K3 series2 XL300 and then added a Hydro Crunch 300.
I replaced the Hydro Crunch 300 with another Kind K3 series2 XL300 and moved the Hydro to a veg room.
Before lights lol I WILL get good ones tomorrow.
