So I’m flowering out my first attempt at monster cropped clones. Plants are healthy and going strong. So here’s my question. The buds are about half the size at 3 weeks than the mother plant was. Like break out the scope to see if there was even any pistils small. What’s the deal? Do monster cropped plants take longer to transition or Bud than a typical clone? Or am I just having sh*t luck😂

Hi there - just my two cents - I don’t think this comparison should be in the mix - each plant is different and there could be numerous variables that account for those differences . If the clones are healthy and thriving I would just continue to nurture them and enjoy the process. I prefer taking clones myself - I find they are hardier.

Tighter colas and depending on veg time you have them… if any at all, they will be small colas.
I did a group of 15-20 in a 2 x 2 raised bed that did ok but nothing spectacular, pretty lollipop colas…

Is the transition time after the flip longer or do monster cropped plants produce smaller buds? I’m at 3 weeks and the Bud development is way behind where their mother was at the same time

I suspect root development is likely an issue…
Monster cropped clones generally behave as well as or better than the donor plant IME.

I’ve never had the problem that your describing with monster cropped clones , other than the process of getting them back to vegg …
It usually takes longer to get them back into vegg depending on how long they were flowering for , so now I try to take them at 3 weeks from light flip and things seem to happen alot faster that way…

They vegged great and stretched like monsters after flip but just dumbfounded why the buds are lacking. The only thing I can’t inspect are the roots like @Myfriendis410 suggested might be the issue . Guess I’ll find out after chop

I ran a Gold Leaf once that I supercropped the dog snot out of and had who knows how many tops. It was in a 3 gallon with coco and it never developed much flower structure: I attributed it to the root mass being too small to support the flower tops.

I have cloned flowers before. I never have past the 4 week. The ones I have now I was trying some different training. They are to tall and wide. I got to get the training down. Looks great. What kind of leds are those

Had to go back and look. No discernable difference in bud size between the two
mine are doing this as well as you saw. Not a happy camper right now. I’ve 5 kingbright 240s at about 24 cranked trying to slow down the stretch but that node spacing I am not a fan of.

Yeah I had my lights cranked till the leaves edges started to curl . Didn’t stop it .

Very nice. I have to do something like that. I do like the way you have it draining. Do you recycle? Do you reuse your drain the water? I will. I have been told many times not to I will not waste my money. If I mix it it gets used to Till its gone. Just my opinion I know sometimes it has salt. I add water. I try and not have any left over

I drain to waste . For me the waste water has to many unknowns to be comfortable with . Could have excess of one nutrient or be deficient in another . Big reason I like jacks 321 so much, it’s cheap and you don’t need to use a lot
